The Institute is spread over 7
acres of land in the Jhalana
Institutional Area, Jaipur. The
facilities of the Institute comprise
the main building housing
classrooms, studios, library,
workshops, resource center,
administrative offices, display
spaces and a hostel block
consisting of the girls hostel,
mess, common room, etc.
The lush green campus of the

he Handicrafts sector is
widely spread throughout
the country and offers direct
employment to approximately
thirteen million people. If the
number of people dependent
on handicrafts for a livelihood,
through all intermediary activities
is taken into consideration, then
the figure would be four times
higher.

The Fired Material Application
is a comprehensive study in
ceramics. The students work
with different types of clays
from terracotta, earthenware,
stoneware to bone china
and porcelain bodies. The
discipline covers processes
like forming, glazing, firing,
fusing, surface design and
decoration.
The Institute has set up a
fully functioning laboratory
with
various
types
of
clays, minerals, oxides and
chemicals required for low
fired earthenware to high
fired bone china. This imparts

Sculpture

an intensive teaching of the
aesthetics and techniques of

The medium of
instruction at IICD
is English and all
aspirants applying
to IICD are expected
to possess working
knowledge

25% of seats are reserved for students who are
domicile residents of Rajasthan.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Candidates appearing for their qualifying examinations can also apply. Their
admission will be provisional and subject to obtaining the defined eligibility latest by 31st October
2014. In case any candidate fails to submit the defined eligibility certificates by due date, he/ she
will not be able to continue his/her studies at IICD. In such cases, the semester tuition fee will not be
refunded, however, the admission will be valid for the next year with the new semester fees provided
the defined eligibility is obtained.

Weightage of the Tests/Interview as follows:
Admit Card
You will have to bring your Admit Card for
entrance exam. Admit card is essential for
entrance in Examination Hall.
Admit Card will be mailed to eligible
candidates only (refer IICD website) by
22nd May, 2014, on email-id provided by the
candidates in their application forms.

Ragging is strictly banned in IICD premises including hostel. If any student found
guilty will be punished as per the guidelines of the Honourable Supreme Court.
The Students of IICD are required to follow Rules and Regulations of the Institute.
The Student Handbook is available on IICD website for reference & information to
all candidates & their parents aspiring to take admission at IICD.
It is mandatory for all students to sign the undertaking as prescribed in the
Student Handbook.
Note:
IICD reserves the right to cancel and/or add
any of Examination Centre.
An email will be sent to you to intimate
announcement of result or your Admission.
The list of selected candidates will also be
uploaded on www.iicd.ac.in.
The decision of the Admission Committee
and Management of IICD in any of the matters
concerning the admission process and
selection will be final.
All selected candidates will get intimation of
their selection through an Admission Letter
which will be sent through courier. Details
regarding payment of fees at the time of
admission, allotment of Hostel and date, time
and venue of commencement of the academic
session will be mentioned in the admission

EVENTS AT IICD
A Special Lecture on Embroidery Craft has been
organized by Mr. Nitai Mehta from ADITYA Mumbai
on 16th January, 2014 at 2:30 pm in the conference room.
He shared with students his vast knowledge of traditional
embroideries and how big design labels are taking these
forward and putting India on the international ramp.
A lecture on Crafts Analysis & Framework of CraftDesign for Sustainability (A Case Study of Thailand) by
Disaya Chudarsi, an ICCR scholar and Lecturer at The
College of Arts, Media and Technology (CAMT), Chiang
Mai University, Thailand was organized. It was followed
by a workshop on Rethinking the Framework Elements
for Craft Enterprises (Indian Context) and discussion
on Reviving Traditional Hand-woven Textiles for
Everyday Life.
