Music-the widely opened gate towards

our soul
Is there such a thing like soul? Is anyone over there waiting for us
after we pass away? It is truly hard to say. However, it seems that
music was for the first time used to praise a divinity hence enabling
the man to dispatch his wishes, his worries and his thanks, hoping that
his god is going to hear him. Be the case of the founders of baroque
music such as G. F. Handel and J. S. Bach who were obviously inspired
in their creation by the music played during the divine service. In
other words, I think a question looms. Has music lost its genuine
purpose through ages? At first sight, the answer is apparent. But still
Even if this type of music still exists, it is true that, on the one hand,
music is no more created in order to worship someone or something,
but in a mundane way. However, it approach endured. Music is beyond
doubt one of the most expressive mechanism through which the man
conveys his feelings, emotions and concerns. As a result, the mere
overhearing of a certain song determines different and unexpected
states of mind to which the listener is subjected. From anger and
anxiety to peace and happiness, music is charged with a high
emotional character. Accordingly, are we in a difficult situation, music
is a means of cheering us up, of motivating us to keep carrying the
burden.
On the other hand, not only can music influence our psyche, but also
it might be a constructive way to reveal our identity and our
momentary state of mind. I consider truthful that we all have the
tendency to listen to a song related to sadness when we are feeling
miserable or to a lively one when we are happy. For that matter, it
seems that music is a universal language, far more expressive than the
spoken word because each and every time we listen to a song we like
we kind of experience an inner uneasiness, a temporary delusion
similar, in my opinion, to the sensation of being drunk.
Unfortunately, these features of music, in general, were developed
in a more terrific way. It is known that, especially, some songs and
rhythms are wielded to manipulate a certain group of people. For
instance, in some supermarkets there are background tunes broadcast
on purpose in order to sway the customers to buy more.

To sum up, I have the firm belief that music is an important factor
that controls our lives more or less being able to peace us or anger us
emphasizing the mood in which we indulge ourselves. It is probably the
experience that distinctly evokes emotion in a way incomparable to
any other senses being a phenomenon developed during all the history
of mankind.
