Poems in Shapes
Children will work in groups to express themselves by having virtual tours in one of
Getty center’s art galleries or exhibitions. By choosing a piece of art, they will start
expressing their feelings, and emotions with adjectives and vivid words to form a
poem. Different groups may choose a different or a similar art piece to form poems
upon, and students should write their reflections within their blogs to be shared
afterwards. However, students need to refresh their memories and work on some
brainstorming activities such as vocabulary games, solving puzzles or matching
rhyming words. The following two websites are from trusted domains: org and edu,
and the first website is a non commercial website that is for ESL students and has
lots of computer assisted language learning activities. As for the Getty website, it is
an educational site that presents research projects, public programs, gallery virtual
tours, and a glance at the museum collections. And most important, the resources,
that are provided for teachers, students, parents and knowledge seekers.
