Lab 11
MetaLUNs
Introduction
A metaLUN is a grouping, also known as a volume, created by joining together
two or more FLARE LUNs. The FLARE LUNs in a metaLUN are referred to as
components of the metaLUN and if several striped LUNs are added together to
form a metaLUN they are considered a single component. The original FLARE
LUN that is expanded is called the base LUN and its data is preserved during the
expansion. A base LUN may be expanded through either concatenate expansion
where one or more components are added with no re-striping of the original base
LUNs data or through stripe expansion where the base LUNs data is re-striped
across the base LUN and the added components.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this lab, the user should be able to create and destroy
concatenated and/or striped metaLUNs and understand the requirements and
implications of these actions.

What conclusions may be drawn? __________________________________
5.
Change the metaLUN Name from the default to metaLUN #, where # is the
original Base LUN number.
Set the Default Owner to SPA.
Set the Expansion Rate to High.
