In designing Genesis, we set out to re-imagine the
premium sedan. To create a vehicle thats emotional
and evocative, yet restrained and elegant. One that
balances its striking road presence with a highly
rewarding driving experience.
This approach has already led to the 2015 Genesis
capturing the imagination of both motorists and the
motoring media.
When it comes to its brilliant use of technology,
Genesis was named by the CES International Consumer
Electronics Show, TechHive and PC World, as winner of
the Best Car Tech category.
Other accolades have included: Highest Ranked
Midsize Premium Car in Initial Quality for two years in
a row by the industry rating agency J.D. Power, while
Kellys Blue Book named it one of the Top 10 Best
Luxury Cars in its category.

Genesis took nearly four years in development.

Throughout, we always kept the basics in mind...

WIDE PANORAMA GLASS ROOF

The fluidic design philosophy extends to the twin-panel panorama glass roof*. Flooding the
cabin with light, it also provides shade and insulation from wind, and offers relief from the
heat and external noise. At the touch of a button, the front roof panel opens for an even
sportier driving experience, while a wind deflector reduces the vibration effects of wind.

To achieve this, Genesis was subjected to tireless
world-class testing on global and local roads and
racetracks, including the famous Nrburgring circuit in
Germany and Hyundais own proving grounds in the
Mojave Desert, USA.
To deliver luxury sedan handling with Australian
comfort and dependability, Genesis was subjected to a
12-month localisation and tuning program. This covered
thousands of kilometres and hundreds of individual
evaluations across urban and country roads, as well as
dirt, gravel and corrugated surfaces. It was also heat
and dust tested on outback roads. As a result, Genesis
provides the highest levels of agility, responsiveness
and balance in all Australian driving conditions.

The HID headlamps cast a significantly brighter and longer light beam,
and are complemented by high visibility LED daytime running lights.
STATIC BENDING LIGHTS
Cornering headlights, activated by the steering direction, give greater
night time visibility, so even blind spots are illuminated.
SMART HIGH BEAM
For added driver convenience, a camera at the front of Genesis
detects the headlights of oncoming cars and the backlights of cars
in front, and automatically adjusts the high beam.
SMART CRUISE CONTROL (SCC)
The SCC system varies your pre-set speed by using data from a radar
to maintain a consistent distance behind the vehicle ahead.

When parking or driving in narrow spaces, the Around View Monitor
(AVM) displays images collected by pantoscopic cameras installed on

A smart air conditioning system * automatically activates the
ventilation system when elevated levels of carbon dioxide are
detected in the vehicles cabin. By initiating the addition of fresh air,
this CO2 sensor helps improve driver alertness and reduce the risk
of drowsiness and fatigue.
HANDS-FREE SMART BOOT
When standing for more than three seconds within a metre of the
rear of the Genesis with the proximity smart key, the Smart Boot
senses your presence and with no extra movement, motion or effort
on your part, it automatically opens to allow you to store your cargo

SOFT CLOSE DOORS
If the doors have been partially closed, sensors embedded in the door
latches activate a motor that will close them automatically^.

Combining radar and camera data, the AEB system autonomously
activates the brakes when it detects dangerous and sudden braking
by the car ahead.
LANE DEPARTURE WARNING (LDW)
A camera mounted on top of the windshield enables Genesis to
recognise the markings on the lane youre driving in and, if it detects
an unintended departure, initiates an alert to the driver.
LANE CHANGE ASSIST (LCA)
The LCA system provides a visual warning when radars detect a
vehicle that is approaching rapidly from the rear. When the turn
signal is being used, a flashing warning as well as an audible and
haptic alert (delivered via the steering wheel), notify the driver of the
potential hazard.
BLIND SPOT DETECTION (BSD)*
When driving at a speed of 30km/h or higher, the BSD function will
alert the driver to blind spot objects in close proximity, including
during lane changes.
REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT (RCTA)*
When reversing Genesis at a low speed, objects approaching on the
left and right side of the vehicle are detected and an alert is given to
safely navigate a potentially dangerous situation.

When parking, eight surround sensors emit an audible warning sound

In adverse driving conditions, the Genesis LED front fog lamps improve

The AVM uses pantoscopic cameras installed on four sides of the vehicle to

CO2 SENSOR
When the sensor detects elevated levels of CO2 in the cabin, it automatically
activates the ventilation system to add fresh air.

The SCC system is regulated by a radar that monitors the vehicle ahead of you
and continually adjusts your pre-set speed to match the traffic conditions.

HEAD-UP DISPLAY (HUD)

The HUD system projects a wealth of key information onto the front
