Activity and
Proposed Focus
Area:

Volunteers will be divided into two groups. Group One will focus on
doing work around environmental sustainability e.g. Assessing
environmental issues around the village and proposing workable
solutions and climate change mitigation practices for the locals.
Group Two will focus on construction of fence at a local day care
centre for accident prevention and safety in week one and move on
to support Group One with project delivery in week two.
At the end of the programme, volunteers will be expected to deliver
a workshop for local stakeholders before departure (Friday of the
second week). Both activities will involve working in partnership
with the local communities.

Brief Overview:

Rapid economic growth in Vietnam over the last ten years, and its
associated industrialisation, urbanisation, as well as increased
exploitation of natural resources, has created significant pressures
for the environment.
The increasing deterioration of environmental conditions is
emerging as a barrier to growth and development. Climate change
challenges, are multi-sectoral and not just environmental but they
often have a shared environmental dimension in their causes,
impacts, or solutions.
As such, AYPVC will focus on environmental sustainability, working
with the community and young environmental activists to promote
environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
AYPVC will also support a local daycare as well by constructing a
2

fence to prevent children from road accidents (an ongoing project

by Hearts for Hue for the community).
