Today, Australia day 26-1-2010 my wife and I were watching a program on ABC 1
“Why Ancient Egypt Fell” (In 2100BC the Old Kingdom the pyramid-building kingdom of
Egypt, was at the height of the powers, then in a few years the civilisation collapsed) and it
turns out that this was due to CLIMATE CHANGE. By then the Sahara (as now known)
was died out and much of the rains in Ethiopia had stopped and the northern part of Europe
was in some form of ice age.
Later, the Egyptians started to build dams to retain water just in case of further draughts,
once rainfall returned.
With Queensland so much being flooded we could follow the example of the Dutch and
build dykes all around Queensland and then use it as a large water reservoir so the rest of
Australia will always have ample of water. Ok, you may not like that idea but then neither
do I like the ETS tax scheme as obviously CLIMATE CHANGE some 4100 years ago
wasn’t because of CQ2 from cars and factories, etc, because they didn’t exist as such.
What we therefore need to look at is to build some infrastructure for the future that when
CLIMATE CHANGE once again returns to our area we are better prepared. And no
keeping a few bottles of water in the fridge isn’t going to do it.

In the State of Victoria the State government demanded a reduction of water use by citizens
and then increased the cost of water as to companies trading water were getting less and
less profits. But,, now that there is more water available the water trading companies are
not going to abandon water prises increases and will make huge profits.
.
What this tell is that any kind of scheme to charge more isn’t really going to do it as it only
serve multi national companies.
.
The Framers of the Constitution made clear that one owns the water that falls on your land
and after it leaves no one owns it. Well tell this to the State government and also the water
trading companies!
.
And, when you use water then the State government adds all kinds of additional charges
onto it. More over, farmers who build dams and collect their own water somehow, albeit
unconstitutionally, are charged water connections, regardless they are not connected to any
water system.
.
What therefore is becoming clear that it got nothing to do with the real issue of water
conservation but more to do with political parties in power willing to sell out their
constituents so they can reap political funding for elections to stay in power.
.
You do not see that the multi national companies are going to put the extra profits into
replacing decaying water pipes as after all they always have an excuse to increase the cost
of water supply further under the excuse that they have to pay for the cost of replacement

of those water pipes.

What we need is an environmental strategy that is not about taxing people up the hill
without anything to show for because no amount of taxing the people is going to stop the
natural circles of CLIMATE CHANGE.
.
No amount of taxation is going to stop the changing of the ocean currents of warm water,
etc, and so we might as well address the real issues that we have mother earth who isn’t
going to be dictated by any politician and like the Egyptian kingdoms discovered that only
real management to deal with water conservation is what will work.
.
With an ever expanding population more and more water is needed.
.
What I view should be done is to build a city in the Desert (like Las Vegas) and learn from
this how to use water. How to store water underground, etc.
Then we will use barren land to become economical viable and rather then having ever
expanding cities we can have cities spread out over the continent. We then can be water
and food self sufficient regardless of any droughts.
.
We should have channels where there is flooding with windmills to bring the water up to
flood to area’s where water can be stored and then use a pipe system to pump it around the
country. After all the Dutch have been doing this so hundreds of years.
.
Follow the Dutch example who turned the Ijselmeer into a fresh water inland sea by
placing dykes from one end to another and use it also as a road way by doing the same with
the Gulf of Carpentaria. You would have one gigantic fresh water inland sea that could
sustain Australia for ample of water supplies. For sure you need to do more then trying to
empty out the Gulf of Carpentaria with a drinking cup to turn it into a fresh water inland
sea but he if the Dutch were able to do it then are Australians to dub for such a project?

Likewise Port Philip can be changed to become a fresh water inland sea and using dykes to
form a channel for shipping the access to the City of Melbourne ports would still remain.
.
If CLIMATE CHANGE was going on, such as about 4100 years ago to basically wipe out
entire kingdoms, where people reportedly killed their own children to have food, then
surely we do not need politicians telling us that is it all because of CO2 from cars and
factories and whatever as in case you didn’t know it they didn’t exist 41000 years ago.
Then again perhaps as like the WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION you just might
argue they will be found one day in deserts.

What they did find in the Sahara was the remains of walruses, sharks and also old wooden
boats many hundred of kilometres land inwards where it is apparent that once the Desert
was under water, as they also found remains of other sea creatures.
If therefore we are bound to face mother natures desire to bring about a CLIMATE
CHANGE then forget about taxing people into their graves as that isn’t going to do it but
rather show real leadership with preparing for alternatives so that when the times come
about that it is needed it will be there.

Perhaps under ground aquifers that might be running low on water could be used to fill up
while there are floods, albeit filtering the water for obvious reasons, and then in time of

need the water reservoirs below ground will provide plenty full.

I can assure you mother nature is upon us with her desire to change the climate whenever
she wants to and all your world travel isn’t going to resolve this, however staying put in
Australia and show to be the man who actually can provide NEW LEADERSHIP (Guess
where that slogan came from?), then even if it might not be during my lifetime at least
those following may have the benefits of being appropriately provided for.

Try it and you might just be surprised what you can achieve if you tried!
