`87 Scholarship

The 87 Scholarship is endowed by the Pierce County High School Class of 1987,
the first class in PCHS history to complete grades 7-12 at 4850 County Farm
Road. This scholarship recognizes the college-bound senior who best embodies the
values and integrity upon which PCHS stands as based upon the body of work
throughout his or her high school experience.

Eligibility and Requirements

(1) The candidate shall be a graduating senior and must have applied to a
college.
(2) The candidate will have a 2.75 cumulative GPA or higher.
(3) The candidate will have financial need as well as solid academic and
disciplinary records. A candidate that intentionally misrepresents
himself/herself or is found to have falsified information will not be considered.
(4) The candidate will submit an application along with a letter of
recommendation from a PCHS teacher by April 13, 2015.
(5) The candidate will submit a 500-word essay demonstrating his/her
candidacy that explains how being a Pierce County Bear has shaped them and
prepared them for the next stage of their career.
