Project Management
Objectives
Project management is concerned with knowledge about
the planning, organization, and monitoring of all project
life-cycle phases.
Management is critical to ensure that:
development projects are appropriate to an organization,
the work in different organizational units is coordinated,
product versions and configurations are maintained,
resources are available when necessary,
project work is divided appropriately,
communication is facilitated, and
progress is accurately charted.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, students shall be able to:
Demonstrate through involvement in a team project the
central elements of team building and team management
Prepare a plan for a project that includes scope definition,
definition and sequence of activities, estimates, schedule,
and resource allocation
Perform risk identification and management.
Understand the activities associated with project
implementation, monitoring and control
Use different methods and techniques to assure the quality
of a product or service
Know, understand and apply agile principles to project
management

Course Philosophy
During classes, the concepts are presented and
accompanied with analysis and discussion of case studies
Along the curse, students shall plan and define the
activities of a project, under a traditional and an agile
approach
Project plans are prepared by teams out of the classes,
and presented and discussed during classes.
Projects execution and control is simulated during classes.
At the end of the course students must write a report
analysing the overall performance of their activities, and
showing understanding of traditional and agile principles
for project management.
