This experienced team is there for you to approach, for strategic advice and to help you think through decisions. We seek in
this way to offer you a personal service at this large-scale event. Never been to job fair before? It is an especially good idea
to meet your advisor informally on Friday January 17, in the meeting room indicated below, for one of three scheduled

Summary Worksheet (self-duplicating) to record major interview outcomes and offer status.
Fair evaluation document please hand to the Search Office when you check out.

Office as the confirmation you have left the fair. We then can advise recruiters looking for you.

OTHER CANDIDATE STATIONERY:

Interview Request/Message Slips your messages folder & Search Office. Recruiters may also send these to you. If
holding one (or the Schools own version of it) you may queue-jump at interview sign-up..
CANDIDATE FAIR DISK CONTENTS:
Schools List: this takes you to the summary information for each of the schools attending (as if searching the Search
Associates Database). YOU DO NOT NEED THE INTERNET TO ACCESS ATTENDING SCHOOLS INFO.
Schools and Recruiters List: names and contact email addresses for all recruiters at the fair.
Fair Documents: (this Candidate Orientation document, Search Team Bios, Fair Schedule, Hotel Map, Presentation
Schedule already in hard copy); offer response template; candidate list - this will include some withdrawn candidates
as it is compiled some time before the fair (it is for social purposes and not what recruiters work from).
FAIR ORGANISATION:
Paper Message System individual candidate files are located in the Candidate Mail Room (Kensington1
Mezzanine Floor of Hotel), where you can receive messages. Schools files are located opposite the Search Office.
Please check your file regularly.
Internet Access free in the Candidates Lounge. You do not need the Internet to access schools information,
which is on disk. Please use only to download and send email. Skype consumes bandwidth. Use on this network is
antisocial. Paid wireless & wired access available in hotel rooms, public areas.
Food sandwich platters are available 12.00 and 13.00 Saturday in the Candidates Lounge (Cromwell) and at
midday Sunday. These are snacks, rather than a full lunch, so please share graciously!
Vacancies information for attending schools is posted on A3 posters in the Candidate Lounge, and on poster-sized
posters in the sign-up rooms (Orchard and Sentosa). Leadership Vacancies (ABOVE Head of
Department/Department Chair) should be indicated at the top of the sheet, and regular vacancies lower down.
Leadership Sign-up attendance 14.15 Friday 17 Jan... only candidates registered for the fair as seeking
leadership vacancies (yellow name badges) attend the Leadership sign-up. Hand in your carbon copy of the
Interview Schedule sheet on leaving only if you are not returning to attend the main Interview Sign-up, also on
Friday 17 Jan at 14.45.
Regular Sign-up attendance - Friday 17 Jan at 14.45... all candidates may attend the regular Sign-up. Please do
not treat this as an interview. Simply establish whether an interview is feasible, note the time and ROOM NUMBER
of the recruiter, and then go and get another one. Ends 17.00. Hand in your carbon copy of the Interview Schedule
sheet on leaving.
Attending interviews be punctual, allow sufficient time to get from one room to the next, knock once only at the
exact time of your interview, if the door is not open.
FAIR PRACTICES
Verbal job acceptance is binding upon you. You may NOT accept more than one offer.
Time to decide candidates may, but do not have to request 24 hours to make up their minds about an offer. It is
also okay for candidates to accept within this time guideline, but please use your Search advisor for advice before
accepting. You can individually agree response deadlines with recruiters. Good to note & confirm by email CC to me
ghayden@searchassociates.com these offers & deadlines immediately agreement is made to avoid any confusion.
Confirming & Accepting Job Offers I have strongly urged recruiters that any verbal job offer should be confirmed
in writing by email to the candidate, CC to me ghayden@searchassociates.com
If a verbal offer is made to you, please request this method of confirmation, copied to me, and ask when you might
expect to receive it. Check your email regularly. Confirm receipt to me by email. Also confirm by email acceptance
(see template on disk) of an offer CC to me ghayden@searchassociates.com
MEETINGS, MISCELLANEOUS
Candidate Orientation Meetings and Candidate Advisor Meetings Friday please do attend one of each.
Enjoy the fair. Be yourself. Support your colleagues. Good luck.
