Procedure Manual

1. Preface
This software is for JRC ECDIS demonstration purpose only.
NOT TO BE USED FOR NAVIGATION.

System Requirements:
The operating environment of this demonstration software is as follows.
Confirm the environment of your PC.
OS
processor
available memory

Windows XP, Vista, 7

1.60GHz or more
512MB or more

HDD disk space

Resolution

500MB or more
SXGA(12801024) or moreRecommended

Usage Restrictions:
This software can be operated only for THREE MONTHS after first start-up.
Also note that some available functions are limited. (E.g. SAVE function can not be
operated.) The following message is displayed when an unavailable function is
selected.

2. Display Settings for Windows

A menu bar or dialog displaying on this demonstration software may be different from the
product software because of the desktop settings you are using.

It is necessary to change the Windows desktop theme to make it the same display as
product model. Please note that to change the Windows theme means that your PC's
theme is also changed. The function of demonstration software is not influenced even if it
does not change Windows settings.

Setting for Windows XP

1) Saving the Windows desktop theme you are using
Select the Windows menu; [Start] [Setting] [Control Panel] [Display]. The
Display Properties dialog box is displayed.

Save your theme on desktop etc.

2) Changing the Windows desktop theme

After saving your theme, change the Windows desktop theme to Windows Classic
theme.

Select Windows classic theme

from the theme dropdown list.

Click the [Apply] button.

The Windows desktop theme is changed to Windows Classic theme.

That is the end of changing the Windows desktop theme.
3) Returning the Windows desktop theme
After using this demonstration software, return setting to your Windows desktop
theme. Select the [Browse] in themes tub.

Select Browse from the theme

dropdown list.

Select the theme file that is saved by 1)

Select the theme file and left-click [Apply] button. The Windows desktop theme is
returned.

Setting for Windows Vista

1) Select the Windows menu; [Start][Control Panel][Desktop customize][Theme]
in [Personal setting] .
2) The method of saving the Windows desktop theme is same as Windows XP.
3) Select the Windows Classic theme.
That is the end of changing the Windows desktop theme.
After use the demonstration software, return setting of your Windows desktop theme
same as Windows XP.

Setting of Windows7
1) Select the Windows menu; [Start][Control Panel][Theme] in [Desktop
customize].
2) Save your theme in [my theme].
3) Select the Windows Classic theme in [basic theme and high contrast theme].
That is the end of changing the Windows desktop theme.
After use the demonstration software, return setting of your Windows desktop theme in
[my theme].

3. Installing the Demo Software

Install the demonstration software according to the following procedure.

1) Double-click the Setup_Demo.exe .

2) Left-click the [Yes] button to start the installation.

3) Left-click the [Install] button. It takes some time to install the software.

4) Left-click the [OK] button.

5) Left-click the [OK] button, and then restart your PC.

4. Operating the Demo Software

4.1

Starting the Demo Software

Start the demonstration software according to the following procedure.

1) Double-click the EPm on the desktop.

2) The usage approval screen of the demonstration software appears. Push the Accept
button if you agree to the content.

3) Left-click the [Navigation & Planning] button to start the ECDIS demonstration.

CAUTION
The following problem may occur because of incompatibility with the hardware accelerator.
not display the chart
If this is the case, adjust the hardware acceleration.

Windows XP

Click the [Start], [Control Panel], [Display], [Settings], [Advanced], respectively. And then click the
[Troubleshoot] tub and slide the [Hardware acceleration] knob to None.

Windows Vista

Click the [Start], [Control Panel], [Customize Desktop], [Personalization], [Display], [Advanced], respectively.
And then click the [Troubleshoot] tub and [Modification]. Slide the [Hardware acceleration] knob to None.

Windows 7

The hardware accelerator can not be changed on Windows 7.

Slide the [Hardware acceleration]

knob to None.

4.2

Exiting the Demo Software

Exit the demonstration software according to the following procedure.

1) Select the (0) Exit menu on the menu bar.

2) Left-click the [OK] button.

3) Left-click the [Exit Demonstration] button to start the ECDIS demonstration.

5. Uninstalling the Demo Software

Uninstall the demonstration software according to the following procedure.
1) Select the All Programs-JRC-Uninstall.

2) Left-click the [OK] button.

3) Left-click the [OK] button.
