Working as Unit Engineer in Utility Department of National Refinery Limited Karachi since
October 2011.
Company Profile:
National Refinery is an ISO-9001, ISO-14001 and OSHAS 18001 certified company with a
total crude processing capacity of 62000 barrels/day comprising one fuel and two lube
base refineries. Utility Department Include,

Four water storage reservoirs with a total capacity of 8.63 million gallons

Distribution of fire water network system along with the provision of six pumps
for firefighting

Receiving, storage and distribution of fuel oil for oil firing in boilers and furnaces
with a total storage capacity of 4250 m3

Receiving and distribution of natural gas, propane and refinery gases for gas
firing in boilers and furnaces

Four set of induce draft cooling towers with a total capacity of 5600 m3/hr

Three RO plants with a total permeate capacity of 0.6 million gallons/day

DEMIN plant with a total capacity of 150 m3/hr

Partial softening plant with a total capacity of 80 m3/hr

Three set of instrument air and plant air production and distribution system.

Two high pressure boilers (40 bar, 450oC each) with a total capacity of 134
ton/hr (both) linked up with power generation steam turbine with a total

Maintaining inventory of acid and caustic

Maintaining inventory of treatment chemicals for required quality of BFW,

Preparation of water balance and fuel balance sheets

Plan preventive maintenance of equipment

Plan standby equipment testing

Follow up of pending jobs

Preparation of technical evaluation form

Inspection of material as raised in technical evaluation form

Planning of plant modification and renovation works

Checking and verifying bills of maintenance works

Issuance of MIR (Material issuing requisite)

Issuance of work permits (Cold work, Hot work, Confined space, Scaffolding)

Implementation of HSEQ policy

Implementation of SOPs.

Planning of manpower adjustments

Conduct training of subordinates

Calculations of capital and revenue budgets annually
