Jesus as temple
John 1:50-51 - Jesus said, "You believe[a] because I told you I saw you
under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that." 51He then
added, "I tell you[b] the truth, you[c] shall see heaven open, and the
angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."
Temple as body
Cleansing of Temple, “stop making - “ My Father’s House”
John 2:19 - Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise
it again in three days." The Jews replied, "It has taken forty-six years to
build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?" But the
temple he had spoken of was his body. After he was raised from the
dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the
Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.
Church is a temple:
Ephesians 2:17 He came and preached peace to you who were far off
and peace to those who were near, for through him we both have
access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers
and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and
members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.
Through him the whole structure is held together and grows into a
temple sacred in the Lord; in him you also are being built together into
a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
Colossians 3:1-3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set
your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of
God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you
died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
Morality:
1 Corinthians 6
Romans 12:1 - [ Living Sacrifices ] Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in
view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy
and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.
