Marking
On each support and prefabricated semi manufactured elements the relevant marking will be
applied, through painting or punching. The marking is depending on the support type, according
to the following examples.
Example of marking of semi manufactured support elements of type ST, SM, SF, SS
ST-17 2-6 5Cr
ST-42 20-24
SM-21 20-24
SF-26 20-24

The semi manufactured elements type ST, SM, SF, SS having small dimensions and mass < 1
Kg, for which it is difficult the marking due to the small dimensions, will be grouped together in
disposable containers and the last will be marked as indicated in the previous chapter.
4.8
4.8.1
Protection painting
All supports and prefabricated semi manufactured elements in carbon and alloy steel will be
protected by means of a cycle of blasting and priming coat, in accordance with the indications
of Painting Specification issued for the project.
Furthermore the supports for which assembly welds are not foreseen (e.g. clamped type
supports), based on standards STD.TP.SUP.5920/5925 or similar issued for the project, will be
also painted with the finishing coats in accordance with the project Painting Specification.
4.8.2
Threading protection
All the threaded parts will be protected from oxidation with mineral grease or similar material.
4.9
Controls to be executed
The dimensions control of any supports as well as the visual control of welding and of
constructed quantities will be performed and certified at Manufacturers care.
Company has the right to witness these controls according to the modalities indicated in the
purchase order.
4.10
Non-conformities
Any non-conformity as concerns the effective compliance of the supply with this specification
and the List of supports prefabrication shall be dealt as stated in the purchase order.
DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
Manufacturer shall supply the certificates of the utilised materials to confirm their compliance
with the codes indicated in previous section 3.
