LIFE-confusciousEssay about myself, my study planning and my career. ESSAY ABOUT MYSELF,
MY STUDY PLANNING, AND MY CAREER 25th February 1992 was the history
date for my parents. As the first son of 4 siblings, I have always been taught to
be caring, considerate and thoughtful towards everyone. As a result, I have
developed a high sense of empathy and found myself as one who cares about
the emotional needs of others. I also believe that the medical profession is a
platform for me to achieve my ambition of creating a caring community and this
can be done by forging close relationship while providing medical treatment for
those in need. I was receiving early education at SK SELAMA. Then, I was
offered to one of Islamic boarding school in Perak, SMKA SLIM RIVER because of
my UPSR result was quiet radiant, 4A 1B. This school has definitely made me an
independent and adaptable person. It also enhanced my time management skills
as I had to balance out between my academics and co-curricular activities. This
was proven when I got 8A 1B in PMR result and won the second places in a
marching competition at district level in 2007. In form 4, I continued my study
at the same school. In the upper secondary, I was quietly active in co-curricular
activities. I was attended a scout camp for 3 days. The camp has taught me to
be well disciplined, organized, and systematic. Moreover, I was participated in
the table tennis competition in the school. Even more I also participated a lot of
games in Sport Day such as lontar peluru , tarik tali and merentas desa.
Furthermore, I gained immense leadership skills as a vice President of the Table
Tennis club, treasurer of photo art club and editor of my schools magazine. My
leadership skills become more resolute as I attended Nadwah Kepemimpinan
Islam on behalf of monitor class of my school and participated in Kursus Bina
Negara Asas in national level. I learnt through experience to maintain my
composure under any circumstances and to work with minimum supervision. I
would always set up a target in my education and future planning and then strive
towards achieving them. This was proven when I got a perfect score that I do not
believe in SPM result, straight As. This would give me a chance to realize my
dream which is to continue my study in the medical field and become a
successful doctor in Malaysia. My feeling care deeply about other people and
their problem and interested in how the human body functions decide me to
choose medical course. So I was planning to continue my study in the Middle
East, Jordon through MARA scholarship. Jordon is the one of Middle East country
has been recognized as medical tourism as over 250,000 people from the other
country have a treatment in Jordon in 2007. This shows medical developments in
Jordon are more modern and more advance.
Before I fly to the Jordan, as I

know MARA will sent their student who choose Middle East to do preparation in
INTEC for 3 month. So do me. Then I continue my degree in the medical field in
Jordon for 4 to 5 years. After graduating with my first degree in the medical field,
I would devote myself as a doctor who is fully committed to his duty of serving
nation and country especially for bumiputera. When I return to Malaysia I will
work with the government hospital for 3 to 5 years. At the same time, I want to
gain more experience about doctor profession. After that, I could proceed further
into becoming a specialist. Since my early age, I have developed great passion
and interest in the pediatric surgery. Then, when I finish all my study level, I
would like to open my own clinic throughout the experience that I gain when I
work at the government hospital. I sincerely hope that my profound passion for
the medical field will enable me to be given a chance to take up this course. I
hope my ambition to be a doctor will achieve as I have been in the right path
with MARA scholarship to continue my study.

Being a boarder was quite a challenge for me as I had to manage my time efficiently, be
independent and learnt to lead myself and others effectively. During my years in MTS, I was very
active in sports, particularly in football and badminton as well as in other co-curricular activities.
When I was only in form two, I was given responsibility to be part of the school editorial staff and
the post was Ketua Unit Grafik Badan Redaksi. The first year of my upper secondary was the busiest
year I ever experienced since I needed to balance my time, not just between academics and cocurriculum, but taken also the study of SMU subjects into timetable. In that year, I was the
President of Kelab Tarannum Dan Qiraat, Secretary of Kelab Sains Dan Matematik, monitor of my
class, 4 Ibnu Awwam, and member of Solahuddin Al-Ayubi Usrah and Pasukan Briged Bakti Sekolah.
And also, I had actively participated in various competitions and activities held by the school and
by other bodies such as Majlis Menghafaz Al-Quran, state level, Perkhemahan Perdana Briged Bakti,
district level, football and badminton sport tournaments, school level, Public Speaking
Competition, school level, and Pertandingan Pentomen Malam Kesenian Islam, school level. While in
SIC, I focused more on my study, but still, I tried to actively take part in competitions, such as
National Physics Competition (NPC), in which I was awarded Silver Certificate, making me the only
student in my school who got it; and public speaking competition, school level. Other than school
related programmes, I had also attended ESQ Basic Training, a professional class leadership training
organized by The ESQ Way 165. As for the awards I have been bestowed upon, SIC conferred on me
Sijil Anugerah Kecemerlangan for obtaining 8 As and 1 B in Peperiksaan Kendalian Berasaskan
Sekolah 2 and Silver Certificate Winner in NPC 2010. And during my post-SPM period, I attended a
month-long Stepping Into the Real World, a university preparatory course as to prepare myself for
the challenging future ahead and Interview Preparatory Course, both conducted by Brig. General
(B) Datuk Hussin Yusoff.
It has always been my ambition to be a mechatronics engineer. Both an aspiring engineer and a
maniac of Physics and Mathematics, I wish to become a master of intricate expertise who can
combine these disciplines into innovatively scientific applications. As you might know, Mechatronics
is a newfound branch of engineering governing mechanical, electronics and software engineering
which I find very interesting a field to study in. A mechatronics engineer usually work in large-scale
industry where robotic limbs replace humans, maintaining the already have system, finding bugs
and invent better system by improving the mechanics and the programme scripts. Hoping to work in
a respectable company in future, I plan to obtain a first class degree in mechatronics engineering
from a reputable and government-accredited university in the United States and come back to
Malaysia as a registered engineer by Board of Engineers Malaysia, BEM. After several years of

working experience in large industrial companies and an Ir. title in hand, I want to set up a
research-based business, preferably with my brother or colleagues with the main intention to
contribute to my nations economic growth. But, if my first plan to work in large company and
start my own business up fails, I will still continue my life on, with a contingency plan. I will
continue my study to Masters degree in engineering and become a lecturer in a local research
university, doing researches and doctorate studies until I get a Ph.D. But, I will make sure that I
give significant contribution to my nations economic growth; both my careers are planned to
converge into the same business, and again I say, research-based business. I realize that this is a
duty of noble respect and I need to work very hard to accomplish it; my mission, a national mission.
I want to pursue my study in engineering in a prestigious university in the United States, a country
famous for its massive findings in technology and science. But first, why over-sea? Well, studying
abroad, as to me, is all about broadening my horizon of thinking, globalising my point of view,
gaining new insights and outlooks through cross-cultural relationships and putting me in a position
where there is no one I can cling to, except to myself shaping me to become a well-developed
adult, spiritually, mentally and physically. By studying in US, the most racially diverse country in
the world, I can learn from and indulge in other cultures from all over the world and assimilate
what is good into ours. In particular, it has always been a highly aspirational wish for me to study
in Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for my undergraduate study. I know that I am hoping
beyond the skies but I am certainly sure that it could be made possible if I give my very best for
pre-university study and outshine others in examinations. MIT, the most sought-after university by
every prospective international student, is a private university, which research in science and
technology is its emphasis. Ranked no.3 in Times Higher Educations 2011 World University Ranking,
MIT scored relatively high in both international mix and teaching, which I think would provide the
best I could ever hope for a conducive learning environment. Among other universities in the United
States, MIT stands in the second top, beating all the private Ivy League universities. Therefore, if I
was chosen by MARA for doing university preparation under, I would be a lot happier if it is Advance
Level General Certificate of Education (GCE A-Level) at Taylors College, one of the best A-Level
institutions in Malaysia. Competing with bright students at Taylors College and learning from them
as well, I will surely get enough motivation to hard-push on my study until I succeed in my A-Level
and the standardized Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) examination with distinction, hence opening
wide my chance to successfully enrol in MIT.
That is all about me, my education and career planning. I hereby put my hope in Allah, for I know
Allah knows what is best for me. I will strive with all my strength to fulfil my dream. Surely, if I
were given a chance to get this scholarship, I will it as a responsibility for my nation, specifically
for Malays. I am confidence that with the right intention, enough hard-work and aspiration along
with tawakkal to My Lord, I will become a successful mechatronics engineer.

Introduction
Me and My Future Plans of Studies and Career Few years ago, a chubby small boy
used to watch after school students completed their school life with such awe.
How they celebrate their last day of school made him felt very impatient to
celebrate his day someday. However, at that time he did not realize, as it was
only an end to the priceless moments of his entire life or even everyone's life childhood, teen hood and schooldays! Now he realizes that it was also the
beginning of his harsh and challenging life as a man. This means a life, which
requires intelligence, knowledge, professionalism, endurance, independence and
it is the survival of the fittest. The boy was me, Adam Smith who was born in
Colorado, America on 26 March 1970. ...read more.

In return, I received the all rounded students award and also the best student
award in my school. I believed that experience is the best teacher of all and what
people see of my success is only one percent of it because the other 99 percent
is my failure. I aspired to be a doctor, perhaps a surgeon or a neurosurgeon.
Actually, I like to help people, especially the one I know. To me, working as doctor
is doing a noble job as same as being a teacher. Furthermore, our country had
insufficient doctors. Hopefully, if I get to study medicine abroad, I would like to
go overseas in one of the best medicine school. With God's will, after my first
degree, I planned to continue with the postgraduate course in surgery or a
neurosurgery. ...read more.

Conclusion
Like my father, a lecturer of IT who turned to enter the business arena, I am
planning to do likely the same thing - from medicine to business. Perhaps by
starting my own clinic, I could someday build my own medicine or health-related
corporation or even a hospital! Above all, we human can no more than make
plans and work for it. Only God could resolve the outcome of our hard work.
However, in any good efforts, no matter how the outcome will be, I have faith in
accepting it optimistically because there must be a bright side of it. Maybe I
sounded like building a castle in the skies. Nevertheless, it is my dream.
Everyone has dreams just as I do and dreams could be true if we work hard and
pray to God. ...read more.
