BRISK PROGRESS
The East Coast Team has been working relentlessly over the last nine
months to bring back the Bhavanapadu Project on track. The
milestones achieved over the last few months are highly
commendable and the team has set the project on course for
comple on.
The team achieved remarkable progress with comple on of large
number of Founda on Works, Chimney Shell crossing 100 meters
mark, Boiler Erec on crossing Second Tier etc. The next six months
are the crucial months for consolida ng the good work done ll
date and set the project on a sure track for comple on of the First
Unit by middle of 2016.
The persistence, commitment and professionalism displayed by the
en re Team have resulted in overcoming all the hurdles and
bringing posi ve developments in the project execu on, nancing
and other areas. The company has also tasted success in the Case - I
Compe ve Bidding for supply of power (100 MW) on long-term
basis to the State of Kerala and the PPA is expected to be signed
shortly.
I salute the team members who have clearly validated my belief
Team is the Key and have achieved so much by sheer hard work
and team eorts. I am condent that the convic on and
commitment of the team will ensure the project comple on as per
the new me schedules.

Health
Medical Camps:

Over 300 pregnant women

a ended the 5 camps conducted in Santhabommali and


Naupada PHCs with checkup by Civil Assistant Surgeon
Dr. Madhavi, Dr. Sailaja and Dr. Mohana Rao. Regular
follow-up also done to ensure mely intake of
prescribed medicines by pregnant women

Eye screening: 458 eye pa

ents from 40 villages

were screened at LV Prasad Eye Care Centre,


Santhabommali with 101 among them being
recommended to use spectacles and 47 spectacles were
issued on the spot

Cataract Opera on:

The doctors have

recommended 94 pa ents for cataract opera ons


among 458 pa ents screened at LV Prasad Eye Care
Center. Of these, 35 pa ents underwent successful
cataract opera ons and medicines prescribed were
distributed free to pa ents and spectacles were
distributed to them. Regular follow-up also done to
ensure mely intake of medicines by pa ents

Eye-Camps:

ECDF organized eye check-up camp

for the students of Pathameghavaram High School in


collabora on with LV Prasad Eye Ins tute. Over 200
students were screened and 17 were recommended to
use spectacles which will be sponsored by ECDF

Infrastructure

De-sil ng of Desigadda canal near Reyyipeta village


was taken up in accordance with Vadditandra village
elder's request. The de-sil ng work was done for 2
km and the height & width of Desigadda bund was
increased helping 300 families of Vadditandra
village spread over 400 acres

Taking cognizance of the request from Kasipuram


village, ECDF has taken up the work of cleaning
MPUP School and Anganvadi Centre, removal of
bushes and cleaning at the burial ground of the
village besides forma on of new bunds to the lands
of few villagers bene ng 300 families across 200
acres

De-sil ng work in the Kasipuram tank was taken up


in accordance with village elders request by
engaging a JCB for 15 days to complete the work.
This de-sil ng will help 300 farmers spread across
200 acres

ECDF developed a katcha road in Kotapadu village by


procuring gravel in accordance to a request from
village public representa ves. This road forma on
helps people from 10 neighbouring villages reach
the DG Puram Rly sta on and see their crops in their
lands behind D G Puram Railway gate. The
Founda on has also taken up similar works for two
other streets as well

Cyclone Relief Activities


ECDF engaged its Emergency Relief teams in coordina on
with management of ECEPL and District Administra on

Restored electricity in the villages extending support


to Electricity Dept.

their kith & kin

Supply of bleaching powder to the villages to prevent


diseases

Strengthening of bunds of tanks in the villages

Quality drinking water is being provided to the residents of Naupada, Seethanagaram and surrounding
villages, where 320 families are being bene ed

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan


The employees of East Coast Energy, AIPL and NECL par cipated in Swachh Bharat Programme in Santhabommali
village. These teams mo vated the villagers to voluntarily par cipate in the programme and also helped them clean
the streets and village in the presence of MPP, MPDO, Sarpanch and Ex-Sarpanch. The CSR team organized a huge rally
to create awareness among the villagers on keeping their village clean, which was appreciated by the village elders and
District Administra on.

FAMILIES' PICNIC
On 09th November, 2014, Kaartheekamasa Vanabhojana Mahotsavam, a day-long families' get-together was
organised near Gandaha waterfalls area (Orissa), 60 Kms away from our Project Township.
80 employees with their families including children and rela ves and 12 Chinese na onals of DEC a ended the
picnic. Out-door sports and fun games were organized for all age groups; mouth-watering tradi onal dishes
were served at lunch and par cipants enjoyed the scenic beauty of the loca on. Prizes were distributed to the
winners of various games and cultural events.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM
The HR Department organized a two-day Orienta on Program for 16 local engineering candidates who were
selected as 'Trainee Appren ce' for undergoing 'Skill Development Training Program' at STPP

The company organized a workshop on Smart Ci es as part of Professional and Social Training &
Development programs. The large number of par cipants showed keen interest by exchanging a number of
ideas and sugges ons

ECEPL employees have been suppor ng 25 children at Future Founda on for last 4 years. On account of our
sustained scal support, the Founda on has witnessed appreciable improvement in their quality of life
(Educa on, Medical Treatment and Healthy Nourishment). In order to spread cheer & joy among children, they
were provided with one set of new clothes of their choice
