Objective

1) Dynamics Cart (ME-9430)

In this experiment, we explore motion graphs,

this time focusing on velocity and
acceleration. The main idea is for us to
become comfortable at translating back and
forth between graphs and real-life motion, and
to understand acceleration at a deep, intuitive
level. Even if we found the last lab easy, parts
of this lab will challenge us students.
Particularly hard questions are marked with a - are used in studies of many different principles

The significance of this experiment is for us
to expand our knowledge in kinematics and to
be familiar with it. Also, to help us to
understand the velocity and acceleration even
more.

we were able to finish the experiment earlier.

3) Photogate

5) Photogate Mounting Bracket

1.

-The photogate is a timing device

which is useful for measuring events which
happen faster than you can time by hand. It is
also useful in determining the speed of many
objects. The photogate consists of an infrared
diode and a photocell.

- is designed for use as an accessory to the

PASCO Projectile Launcher. It attaches to the
front of the launcher and holds one or two
photogates in parallel.
6) Smart Timer Picket Fence

4) Smart Timer

- A picket fence, ideally white, is seen

by some as a symbol of the ideal middle-class
suburban life, with a family and children, large
house, and peaceful living. This stems from the
fact that houses in quiet, middle-class

types of events detected with PASCOs digital
sensors, including speed and acceleration using

marked off in centimeters and usually
millimeters.

Discussion and Conclusion

Objectives

Kinematics is the study of classical

mechanics which describes the motion of
points, bodies and systems of bodies without
consideration of the causes of motion. The
term is the English version of which he
constructed
from
the Greek kinema "movement,
motion",
derived from kinein to move".

stable. An example of this is a person running
in a straight direction with constant speed.

The acceleration of the cart down the track is
related to the angle of inclination because in
our experiment as the angle of inclination
goes up the higher the acceleration of the cart
down the track. The maximum acceleration
that the cart can have is that if the angle of
inclination is at maximum also.
