Solve the following problems.
1. A circle has its center at (3, -2) and one end of a diameter at (7, 2). Find the other end of
the diameter.
2. Find the lengths of the medians of the triangle whose vertices are (3, 13), (-1, 6) and (8, -
7).
3. The line joining (-8, 1) and (11, 7) is divided into four equal parts find the points of
division.
4. The point (-3, -4) divides the line joining A(-6, -7) and B in the ratio 1:3. Find the
coordinates of B.
5. Determine x so that the three points (x, -3), (9, 1) and (13, 2) will lie on a straight line.
6. Find the angle from the line through (-5, 9) and (10, -4) to the line through (-4, 6) and (-
1, 8).
7. The angle from the line through (-1, y) and (4, -7) to the line through (4, 2) and (-1,-9) is
1350.
8. Find the area of the polygon whose vertices are at (-3.-4), (3, 2), (5, 1), (7, 2), (8, 4) and (-
2, 5).
9. Find the equation of the locus of a point which moves so that its distance from (1, 3) is
always one-third of its distance from (8, 2).
10. Find the equation of the locus of a point which moves so that its distance from (5, 8) is
twice its distance from the x-axis.
11. Find the equations of the altitudes of the triangle with vertices at (1, -1), (5, 2) and (-2,
4). Where do they intersect?
12. Find the equation of the perpendicular bisector of the line joining (4, 0) and (-6, -3).
13. What is the equation of the line through (7, -3) and perpendicular to the line whose
inclination is Arctan 2/3.
14. A right triangle has its right angle (-4, 1) and the equation of one of its legs is 2x 3y +
11 = 0. Find the equation of the other leg.
15. What is the equation of the line through (5, 2) with the x-intercept thrice the y-
intercept?
16. What are the equations of the lines perpendicular to the line 3x y + 6 = 0 and passing
at distance 3 from the origin?
17. Find the equations of the line parallel to the line 5x + 12y + 26 = 0 and passing at a
distance numerically 2 units farther from the origin.
18. Determine the distance between the lines 3x 4y + 25 = 0 and 3x 4y + 45 = 0.
19. Find the equation of the bisector of the obtuse angle between the lines 4x + y + 6 = 0
and 2x + 8y 3 = 0.
20. Find the bisectors of the interior angles of the triangle whose sides are the lines 7x + y
7 = 0, x + y + 1 = 0 and x + 7y 4 = 0.
