Job Purpose

Under guidance, support the development of integrated operational plans for the current schedule and the next
declared IATA seasons, up until the plan handover to the AOCC (typically 24-48 hours before day of ops).
Analyse performance and demand factors to enable improvement in the planning of schedule and improve
levels of service and operation
Analyse the impact of the various development programmes on the airports ability to accommodate the
forecasted demand. Support the development of appropriate mitigations, ensuring that operational resilience is
maintained and service levels optimised, but that expedient delivery is promoted.

Qualification and Education:
The job holder should be educated to degree level in a numerical subject.
Experience:
At least 2-4 years experience in a research, planning or engineering role, with a significant amount of that time in
the aviation sector. Demonstrable experience in developing and using simulation and/or planning tools. Proven
ability to communicate data and information in a manner that is readily understood by a wide audience of varied
experience.
Training:
Developmental training is required in any area for professional development and/or mandatory purposes.
Knowledge:
The applicant should have a strong understanding of the key airport processes and operations.

Operational plans
Work with the Senior Planner to develop the integrated
operational plans:
Gather data to enable development of the daily demand
forecasts for the area of responsibility,
identify constraints in the plan (projects, maintenance,
resources)
resource the plan (equipment, manpower)
Operational Analysis, Resilience and Improvement
Under the guidance of the Senior Planner and Planning Manager:
Analyse the impact of changes in supply and/or demand
during the current and upcoming IATA seasons.
Identify capacity and/or efficiency bottlenecks and work as
part of cross-functional teams to identify mitigating
opportunities from the available facilities, systems and
processes.
Analyse the impact of enhancements (e.g. new technology)
or restrictions (e.g. new regulations) on capacity.
Analyse airport performance (throughput, queues, delays,
etc).
Operations Monitoring and Simulation
Assist in the modelling of the airports environment to enable an
in-depth understanding of the drivers of performance, service and
resilience. This may involve a number of tools (e.g. simulation
tools, spreadsheet models, survey or process audits datasets).
Ensure that data integrity and confidentiality (where appropriate)
is maintained at all times.
Under the guidance of the Senior Planner, conduct simulations to
support the operation and assess any impacts on it.
Maintain an up to date data library of capacity and service
measures that are to be used in simulation models
Maintain and update simulation data, accurate baseline
simulation models and capacity assessment models for the
current year.
Reporting
Responsible for reporting airport performance to the Senior
Planner and Planning Manager
LAB Support
Provide analysis and performance information to the Dubai NX
LABs through the Senior Planner
Administration
Complete all administrative duties required for this role.

of other planning roles to maximise efficiency of capacity planning. They will be able to work almost without

supervision and will be responsible for delivering internal and external stakeholder meetings and projects. The job

Proposed:
The job holder will mostly work in an office environment on a shift pattern, the length of which is dependent on the
area of responsibility. He/she will be expected to meet demanding deadlines and will have the ability to withstand
high levels of stress, adapt priorities, and respond rapidly. The nature of this role may require working outside
'normal office hours' and in an operational environment from time to time. The role might also involve availability on
call on roster basis to respond to events.
