JUSTIFICATION
Two classes of population have excited the pity of mankind in all the ages helpless
children and aged who lack a comfortable place in which to live out their declining
days.
Aged people denial of fundamental human rights. In our society, religion and cultural
values we have a strong faith in giving respect and care to aged people, but
unfortunately the living people in era of science and technology, indulged in their own
world and remain unaware of the rights of their elders. At the age where the aged needs
full attention and want to accompanied by their younger one or by their family
members but their they ignored by them.
Our aged has a respectable status in our society. Some aged faces some sort of social,
physical, economical and psychological problems and to cope with these problems they
become dependent.
In case of dependency they are cared by their family members or those closely
connected with them society and economically. But now the function of the family has
been changed in to the nuclear family.
As the people age they become aware of their declining physically and mental power.
Mostly their children feel them a burden which make it impossible to care for them.
Another of the driving forces of human life is the desire for response. The old age
people are failure to secure such a response is much more limited. For example: The old
parents had the affection and respect of their children, one of the parents died, the
children have grown up and each having their own family and separated from their
parents. The children become so busy in their own affairs that they forget the love and
affection of their parents. This situation is becoming more tragic with the rapidly
changing cultural pattern.

ii

The purpose of the study is to spend some time with youth to know about their attitude
towards aged in their families.
The ages are human like any of us and deserve attention and equal rights which they are
surely denial in our society. They deserve to be treated like any other age. They (aged)
are pillar of our society and cant be ignored.
