The Christian Messenger

Friday, April 3rd- We will show the movie, The Passion of the
Christ beginning at 6:00 P.M. in the fellowship hall. This
riveting depiction of the final hours of Christ will prepare your
heart for the purpose behind Easter weekend. Please take note,
this film is very graphic in nature. All parents should be advised
that small children should not participate. Do you know
someone who needs Jesus? Why not invite them to this event?

THOUGHTS FROM BRAD

I hope you plan to join us for Easter Sunday. I love this day of celebration which focuses on the
resurrection of Jesus Christ. Next Sunday we will break away from our current Sunday morning
series so we can draw our attention to Jesus. Why not invite someone to come with you that you
have been praying to receive Jesus. Invite them out Friday to watch the Passion of the Christ film
with you. Invite them to breakfast which starts at 7:30 A.M. Remember, 85% of the unchurched
say they would attend with you if you would just ask. You can do it!
I always love it when someone comes to me and shares that they have a passion to start a ministry.
Recently I received this note from Ron Enlow. I am new (again) to the 5th Avenue Church of
Christ. My wife Ruth and I love being back and close to our grand kids. I also love to play golf as
I know some of you also do. I would like to organize a weekly golf outing in the Lancaster area.
We can get to know each other, have Christian fellowship, exercise and have fun. Once I get a few
names I will set it up. See the Bulletin Board for the signup sheet. Sounds like a great time. I
hope some of our men will join in the fun. I know I will.
April 24- Our next scheduled mens event is the Mens Retreat at RLCA in Lakeville, Ohio.
The cost for the evening program and steak dinner is $25. Men who like to golf and want to
participate in a golf scramble, your additional cost is $45 making the total $70 for the day. If we
do not have enough for a team, we will find a place to golf by ourselves. For the guys who like to
fish, Round Lake is a great lake for it and there would be no additional fee for you. If you would
like to see more of the camp, go to www.roundlake.org. Be sure to get signed up in the coat room
today if you are interested.
In His Service,
Brad

SENIOR SAINTS IN THE SMOKIES

May 25-29, 2015
Over the past several weeks, we have been encouraging you to consider attending Senior Saints in the Smokies
this year. It is a special program planned for those aged 50 and beyond. It is a spiritually invigorating and,
yet, relaxing week in the shadows of the Great Smokie Mountains of Tennessee. It is held on the beautiful
campus of Johnson University near Knoxville. The cost is just $240 per person, if you submit your $50
registration fee by April 15. (Registration forms are available on our main bulletin board along with a signup sheet.)
We are asking that you put your name on the sign-up sheet so that we can know how many plan to attend.
We invite you to travel in our church vans. (We share the cost of gas.) If you plan to go and have mailed
your registration, please circle the number by your name on the sign-up sheet. If you have questions,
contact Dave Tingler at 654-4223 or 503-7061.

WELCOME TO FIFTH AVENUE!

At FACC, we focus on loving God, loving people,
and turning the world upside down.
We are happy you chose to worship with us today. We hope you
return next week and bring your friends with you. If you would
please take a few minutes to fill out a Silent Roll Call Card,
located on the back of the pew, you can then place it in the
offering plate as it is passed. Thank you. For more information
about our great church, contact our minister, Brad Seevers at
Brad@new-churches.org or call him at 740.550.9882. Have a
great week and may God bless your life.

A Vow Made to the Lord

How Can I Respond Today?

At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all issues. We believe that
Gods Word is clear concerning what a person must do to become a
Christian.
Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation.
Turn (repent) from the sin in your life.
Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life.
Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and
to receive the Holy Spirit into your life.
To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during
our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized
believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on
Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further.
We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better
understand what you are committing to as a member. If you would like to
take a Curious class, please indicate this on your Silent Roll Call Card.

Core Values...
Values central to the life, mission and vision of Fifth
Avenue Church of Christ are:
Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus
through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus
on Jesus through grace-based preaching and teaching
& understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy
3:16).
Church Health and Biblical Balance
Church health becomes reality when God's people
seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every
member to protect the unity of Christ's
Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)
Global Evangelism
We are constant to our founding call to worldwide
evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the
Savior, Healer, and Soon-Coming King (Acts 20:27).
Fellowship and Ministry
After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will
equip them to find a ministry based upon their
strengths. We want everyone to serve in some
capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His
church to be the living evidence of His love and power
to the world.
Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth
Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all
about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily
relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In
other words, we want to see the things you are taught
actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.
Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of
Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic
diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).

OUR PURPOSE
WE EXIST TO

Exalt Gods Greatness;

Evangelize Gods Work
Equip Gods People
Express Gods Love through Jesus Christ

OUR MISSION

To Love God and Love People!

MISSION SPOTLIGHT
Round Lake Christian Camp
114 State Route 3
Lakeville, OH 44638
In the good old summer time. Amen! Its summer! Dont we all have events we look forward to when summer
returns? One of those events is Christian camp. Like VBS, Christian camping can impact the lives of our young
ones for a lifetime.
Not many of us know of the effort that is takes to run a summer camp for so many young people on a daily basis for
nine weeks (non-stop.)
Lance Powers has managed Round Lake for the last 29 years. He keeps a few full-time people on staff all year, but
come May, the staff payroll balloons to about 30 to prepare for the campers. The staff increase is needed to help
register campers, prepare and stock food, maintain the grounds, clean buildings, supervise the waterfront, and create
programs for the campers. Whew! Camp tuition does not cover all this expense.
During the nine weeks of camp, around 1000 volunteers will spend time with the campers 24/7. These volunteers
give of their personal time to teach the gospel of Jesus to the campers.
Campers are known to get homesick or some minor injury, so it is helpful to the campers if someone from their
home church volunteers the same week they go, so they will have the comfort of knowing at least one person they
can go to for aid or comfort.
Isnt it great? The camp welcomes any help and provides for a new learning experience for the campers.
We support the camp with $150.00 per month.

Library Spotlight
Benjamins Box by Melody Carlson is a Mommy and Me book for children.
What are the treasures in Benjamins Box? Come along with Benjamin and
see . Like all boys and girls, Benjamin is very, very curious. Unlike the
children of today, however, Benjamin lives during the days of Christ! When
Jesus comes to Jerusalem, Benjamin decides to follow Him and find out who
He really is. At first, he thinks Jesus is a teacher, then a king. At last,
Benjamin learns the good news news that every child (and grown-up!) will
want to share.

Corrie ten Booms This Day is the Lords selections for everyday reading is a
fresh reminder of the Saviors personal participation in your life at all times. In
her characteristic warm, heartfelt manner, Corrie ten Boom offers a lifetime of
lessons about Gods love and grace. With a message, a Scripture reading, and a
prayer for each day of the year, This Day is the Lords is Corrie ten Booms
lasting gift of faith to the world.

Stop by the library and check out a good book! If you have any
questions about the church library, please contact Delores Payne.
