Thompson achieves platinum quality service certification

For the Trail-Gazette

cott Thompson of
Coldwell Banker
Estes Village
Properties has
repeated the previous
years achievement of
being granted the highest
level of service achievement in the real estate
industry, Quality Service
Certified Platinum. The
award is in recognition of

earning 100%
client service satisfaction in 2014
as measured
by Leading
Research
Scott
Corporation
Thompson
(LRC). Winning this
prestigious award for five
consecutive years demonstrates Scotts dedication to

his clients and the help he

provides them.
A Quality Service Certified (QSC) award status is
the only recognition in the
real estate industry based
on independently validated
customer satisfaction survey results. After the conclusion of real estate transactions, clients of QSC
agents receive a survey,
asking them to rate the

agent on various aspects of

the service process. The
surveys are administered
and the results are
received and compiled by
LRC.
Client feedback from the
surveys becomes part of
the agents credentials. An
overall satisfaction rating is
displayed on the consumer
websites (www.QualityService.org and www.Rated-

Agent.com) where buyers

and sellers have the ability
to select a real estate professional based upon each

service satisfaction.
Nothing is more important to a prospective client
in selecting a professional
than the service results
achieved with past clients,

Fight fatigue by
paying attention to
the little things

ow, I found
myself in a
yawn that
almost put me
on the ground the other
night and I looked up at the
clock and it was only 7:15pm.
I couldnt believe it. I know
and understand the powers
of early darkness, but to
want to crawl under the
sheets at that hour really had
me wanting to figure out
ways to keep my energy up.
Fatigue is the most common complaint women bring
to their doctors. Being tired
isnt just annoying, its your
bodys cry for help and if you
dont pay attention and correct whats making you tired,
you will get sick, says
Ericka Schwartz, M.D., the
internist from New York City
who specializes in treating
fatigue. Ken Goodrick, Ph.D.
a psychologist at Baylor College of Medicine adds that
when you constantly feel
drained, lifestyle habits are
usually to blame, and its not
always about the big-drains
that affect us the hardest.
Big drains would be
those life events that we
know drain our energy; like
kids, finances and work.
Those are all givens. We
neglect to count the little
things that add up, compile
and together zap our energy
equally if not worse.
All work and no play is
exhausting. Routines, boredom, 24/7 living can wear
you out. Try to build in some
pleasure throughout your
day by reading jokes, flipping
through a magazine, calling
a friend, playing a game.
These mini-breaks will be an
energy booster.
Shunning the sun is a huge
energy drainer. Research
shows that you need outside

High Altitude
Health

light and exposure every

day, even if its for just a few
minutes and even if its
cloudy outside. Its amazing
what a little outdoor energy
will do.
Poor breathing habits will
lead to fatigue. Shallow
breathing doesnt encourage
enough oxygen to be taken
into your body, which will
promote a higher heart rate
and blood pressure, which
increases fatigue. So breathe
a little deeper when youre
feeling tired or about to go
into an energy draining situation.
Sitting too long, whether at
your desk or on the couch
will sap your energy. Staring
at a T.V. or computer screen
will tend to make you blink
less frequently, leading to
dry eyes, eyestrain and then
wanting some shut-eye.
Stretch, walk, yawn and take
frequent breaks.
Sleeping inconsistency is
really hard on your body.
Your bodys internal clock
craves consistency and if you
stay up late on weekends and
sleep in late, youre giving
yourself jet-lag without
even leaving town. Erratic
schedules can have a hangover affect, causing fatigue
after you wake up. Establish
regular bedtime and wake-up
times for positive energy.
Even on weekends and vacations try to keep close to
your regular sleeping schedule.
Mild dehydration can
make you feel tired and/or
lethargic. Your blood volume

lowers, which means you

dont get as much blood to
your brain and your heart
must pump harder. Plan your
hydration, by drinking appropriately throughout your day.
Bright lights at night can
reset your internal clock
reducing and/or delaying
the natural secretion of
sleep-inducing melatonin
that happens near bed time.
Dim your house lights at
night a few hours before bedtime.
Not eating breakfast,
instead opting for vitaminsplus-coffee for your morning boost of energy. You
need to naturally boost your
metabolism by giving yourself a more sustained energy
source through eating a
healthy breakfast.
Overdoing exercise is not
a good energy strategy. Your
body needs times to recover,
replenish its energy stores
and repair muscles. So allow
a rest day or two in your
weekly exercise routine.
Toting around extra
weight causes fatigue and
stresses your body in a number of ways. Extra weight
makes your joints, muscles
and heart work harder at all
times. Try losing those extra
5 10 pounds and see how
you experience less fatigue.
Poor posture makes you
look tired and it creates the
feeling as well. When joints
arent aligned properly the
body must work harder in
order to sustain normal activities.
Lastly, unwanted noise is
stressful. So avoid, turn
down and/or change the
noises in your life that might
be keeping you from a good
nights sleep, getting your
work done or simply being
enjoyed.

headline read; Trigger not

It just doesnt fit in with
what we think about our silver screen heroes and their
horses. Its just about beyond
comprehension that Trigger,
Champion, Koko or Topper
could do such a thing.
If Roy or Gene were being
beat up, or were in trouble,
Trigger or Champion would
rear up and protect them, or
they might even attack a
mountain lion that was
threatening Dale or a child.

Not always, though. Ive

also had my horse spin
around and try to run from
what ever the distraction
was. One horse bucked the
entire length of main street
in my home town when a
firecracker was tossed
toward us. Any one who has
ridden much has probably
had the same things happen.
But, generally a broke horse
will take notice of loud noises or such and just keep on
going where they have been
pointed, or switch their tail
and stay tied with little
response.
Its amazing to me the crap
horses put up with sometimes and dont go nuts. I left
a mare Id just bought at my
folks place once. Told my

younger brothers and sisters

to stay off her because I
didnt know her well yet and
she had bucked with me. I
got there to pick her up the
next day and there were seven kids on and around her.
She was eating grass.
Yeah, I love horses. Theyll
be the absolute perfect partner on a ride, or meet you at
the gate and wait to have
their ears scratched. Then
theyll turn around and do
something so dumb you
wonder how they manage to
stay alive. But, Ive made
people wonder the same
thing about me, at times.
