What is MATRC ?
Martial Arts Training and Research Center for International
Promotion of Chinese Language (MATRC) was founded in 2012.
As a non-profit training and research institute under the joint
administration of Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters)and
CUPES, it is committed to promoting Chinese Wushu and meeting
the needs of knowing Chinese Wushu of the foreigners. This
center is set in Capital University of Physical Education and Sports
(CUPES).

Objective: To learn Wushu basic movements, understand Wushu,
appreciate the value and enjoy the pleasure of Wushu through oneday experience
Content: 1. Wushu etiquette-(greetings: greeting teachers, greeting
classmates and farewells)
2. Taijiquan basic movements- (names of parts of the body)
3. Six Taijiquan and Taiji Tuishou- (Moving and Quiet, Empty and
Real, Yin and Yang, etc.)
Learner: the headmasters of the Confucius institutes and people
who want to know Wushu.
Assessment: tests will be carried out according to the regulations
of the Confucius institute and certificates will be granted to those
eligible learners.

How are the facilities?


The outstanding sports facilities in CUPES mainly include Beijing
University Students Gym, Athletic Complex, Natatorium, indoor
training halls, outdoor athletic elds, soccer elds, etc.

What is the accommodation condition like?


CUPES has a good hotel and an advanced International Student
Apartment, which can provide accommodation for about 200 people
at the same time. Since 1990, the university has undertaken several
international events like matches of Asian Games, Olympic Games
as well as international academic conferences, thus CUPES has
accumulated rich experience of reception work with strong teamwork
and hard-working volunteers.
