Abstrac
The aims of this research are to analyzing the species composition, measure and
frequencies of spiny lobster (Panulirus sp) in Cilacap water. The data are 20 % of
populations as daily fishing catch that was landing from April 30 to May 29, 2006.
Identifications result of species composition from 199 species sample of spiny
lobster were green sand lobster (Panulirus homarus), pearl lobster (P. ornatus), bamboo
lobster (P.versicolor), spot/stone lobster (P. penicullatus). The lobster species
composition were green lobster 66 %, pearl lobster 13 %, bamboo 8 % and spot lobster 3
%.
The measures of spiny lobster were weight, total length and carapace length. The
dominant of weight frequency of green sand lobster was 50-100 g interval class (83
species), the pearl, bamboo and stone lobsters was 100-150 g interval class. The
dominance interval class of all lobster species was 100 – 150 g .
The dominance frequency of total length for green sand lobster was 76 – 95 mm
class interval, pearl lobster 160-176 mm, bamboo 136-155 mm and stone lobster was
116-135 mm. The dominance frequency of total length for all species was 156-175 mm
interval class and dominance frequencies of weight were 36-50 g and 101 – 125 g.
The dominance class interval of Carapace length green sand lobster was 31-35
mm, pearl lobster was 60-65 mm, bamboo and stone lobster was 41 – 45 mm. Lobster
catch have been influence by fixation of fishing ground, fishing gear construction, fishing
technique and fishing boat. Fisherman conditions as small scale fishery fixing
compositions and measure of spiny lobster focusing the dominances of class interval
frequencies.
Key words : species composition, dominance frequency, measure, spiny lobster.
