COURSE DESCRIPTION & OBJECTIVES: The course introduces students to the basic principles

and theories of organizational behavior. We will cover a variety of topics relevant to organizational
behavior issues including attitude, motivation, communication, leadership and team works. We will focus
on traits necessary for employees to interact within and outside the organization. The course is designed
to help students learn more about their interpersonal skills and, develop their leadership skills through
discussions and class exercises which will help them to become an efficient employee of an organization
in the future.
This course will emphasize on the importance of employee behavior within the organization, how
different traits influence our organizational behavior and how to work effectively with individuals and
groups within the organization.
COURSE FORMAT: The classes will consist of lectures, presentations, examples and discussions.
Lectures will be active, requiring students to take notes, answers questions, talk to other students and
think about the concepts presented. Participation will be encouraged with time allocated for asking
questions and raising issues during class. Group discussions will be an integral part of the class.
REQUIRED TEXT: Robbins, S.P. et al. (2009).Organizational behaviour.(13th ed.). Pearson education.
OTHER REFERENCES: Will be provided by the instructor.
PAPERS: All papers must be handed in hard copy on the date that they are due. Late papers will be
penalized by 10% per day after the due date.
EXAMS: Lecture notes, handouts and chapters from the book will be included. The format of the
questions will be discussed in the class.

- It is important that you attend classes regularly. In-class participation is a key component of the
course.
- You will not be allowed to take any make-up exam, unless you show a valid reason. The make-up
exam policy will depend entirely on your instructor.
- Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
- Please turn off all cell phones before entering the class.
- The number of groups in the class may vary according to the total number of students.
- The instructor and university reserve the right to modify elements of the course during the term.
If any type of modification becomes necessary, reasonable notice and communication with the
students will be given with explanation and the opportunity to comments on changes. It is the
responsibility of the student to check their emails and website regularly during the term to note
any changes.
