Purpose and Background

All
professionals
including
engineers
require
continuous updating of knowledge, state of the art skills
and identification of new applications. Pakistan
Engineering Council with its objective of introducing
and ensuring Continuing Professional Development
amongst its growing community of professional
engineers has planned series of short courses in
addition to many other academic and professional
activities.
This course is designed to provide the knowledge and
leadership necessary to develop programs in industry
and organization for investigation and prevention of
hazards. The course covers the key issues of Process
safety and is designed to enable the participant to
conduct hazards identification, hazard analysis, and
accident analysis for improving safety.

A certificate will be awarded to the participants.

Profile of Resource Person:

Dr Naveed Ramzan earned his doctorate (PH.D) degree in
2007 from Lehrstuhl Anlagen und Sicherheitstechnik,
Brandenburgicshe Technische Universitt Cottbus, Germany. At
present he is serving as Professor/Campus Coordinator
Faisalabad Campus in University of Engineering and
Technology, Lahore Pakistan and have 15 years of
administrative, academic, research, financial, management,
strategic planning and execution experience. He is also
approved IOSH, NEBOSH IGC and IOGC Tutor and conducted
more than 1500 man days of several trainings to professionals
in collaboration with Pakistan Engineering Council and known
organizations at Pakistan such as Fauji Fertilizer Company Ltd
(FFC), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Sustainable Business
Solution etc. mostly in the area of process safety, HAZOP,
Safety management system, process design and simulation
and occupational safety and health. He has published 72
research papers in several national and international journals
such as Process Safety Progress (USA), Computers and
Chemical Engineering, Biomass and BioEnergy etc. and
contributed/ authored 8 books. His current research interests
are process Safety/ Risk Analysis, Process Simulation and
related areas. Besides this, he has done OHSAS 18001:2007
IRCA Certified Lead Auditor Course.
