of the job is particularly appealing, as Ive always dreamed of travelling to Malaysia. I would be

Research Interests

My interests lie in the field of automation, by the application of mechatronics concepts of

control and intelligence in designing and inventing smart products and applications.
I am interested in the concepts of logic design and systems control in the automation of
manufacturing lines by PLC, or in more specific robotic applications.

Presently following B.Sc Engineering (Mechatronics), 3rd year, at Asian Institute of

Industrial Training
1. Completed a 12 week Training period in the Research & Development Department at
Orange Electrics Pvt. Ltd, Sri Lanka. During this time, I was involved in 3D modeling and
Electronic Circuit Design. I was also exposed to the factory environment of the several bulb
manufacturing factories owned by Orange.

2. Completed a 12 Week Training Period at Hitech Solutions Pvt. Ltd Sri Lanka. During this
time, I made several visits to manufacturing plants, where I assisted in designing innovative
automation machines using PLCs. I also gained firsthand experience in image processing
based automation projects.

Completed Projects.

Presently working on my Senior Capstone project, which is a Vision Based

intercepting/sorting machine for industrial setting.

Developed a Traffic Lights System for a four way junction with pedestrian control using

SIEMENS Simatic S7 and WinCC.

Developed a prototype for a 3 Axis pick and place Robot using Arduino Microcontroller

& LabView Interface

Developed an application to track an object based on its color using OpenCV.
Built an autonomous boat that is able to detect and avoid obstacles, using Ultra-Violet

sensors and micro-controller.

Created a 3D model for a 5 cylinder crankshaft system using Siemens NX 8.
Developed an interface for controlling two industrial bi-directional stepper motors with
speed control using stepper motor driver circuit
