Aggregation of value in the existent production by means of the incorporation of
advanced technology will allow New generation systems and distribution of the
wealth. Also, changing the production model also poses increasing exports of the
most representative Ecuadorian products, but adding value, ie, processing.
(Secretaria Nacional de Planificacin y Desarrollo, 2014).
Other important points in the change of the productive matrix are:Electric
Energy to export
The Ecuadorian government intends to increase the production of clean electricity
for greater local and regional development. To this end it has ordered the
construction of eight hydroelectric: Mandariacu and Toachi Pilatn (in the province
of Pichincha), Mazar, San Francisco Quijo and Mines (Canar) Advertise Blower
(Morona Santiago), Delsitanisagua (Zamora Chinchipe) and Coca Codo Sinclair
(Sucumbios and Orellana), involving an investment of about 5,000 billion providing
2,800 megawatts. At the time, the "peak demand" of national electricity amounted
to 3,400 megawatts, according to industry officials.
With the contribution of hydro thermal generation that pollutes the environment it
involves higher costs. "We are an oil producing country, we have every right to
generate electricity with oil, but we decided to go for renewable energy,
environmentally friendly energy," the vicepresident.

Investment in education and technology
Ecuador aims to achieve a transformation of an "economy of finite to infinite
resources, that is, an economy not based on material goods but one that depends
on knowledge and human talent. Thus, it has invested in the improvement of
primary, secondary and higher education. For the latter, the government spends
about 2% of gross domestic product (GDP), that Ecuador is located above all the

nations of the region and countries such as Germany (0.7%), Canada (0.9%),
United States (0.9%), Belgium and France (1%), Norway (1.2%), Australia and the
Netherlands (1.3%), Finland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom (1, 4%) and
Switzerland (1.6%). retrieved. Retrieved:http://www.andes.info.ec/en/news/whatchange-production-matrix-ecuador.html

Companies that operate and/or the ones that want to invest in Ecuador have a
challenge: to align with the President Rafael Correas agenda. This agenda
involves some challenges of coordination built up as a benefit of the productive
matrix in the country, which focuses on strengthening the local production,
reducing imports in raw material as much as in finished products. In circles closed
to the Government, it has been said that it is the time of the foreigner investment
but in the practice, companies can find some difficulties leading them to enlist in

The Ecuadorian economy is based on the extraction of natural resources and its
export is also sensitive to the changes in the prices in consequence the economy
in the country is repressed. With the change of the productive womb it is looked for
to open new doors to the country that you/they allow to improve the economy and
the lifestyle of the citizens. With the measures that are being taken, the substitution
of imports, the restriction of useless importations,it is believed that until 2017, more
than 6 thousand million dollars of imports will be replaced.
