Hey Key Clubbers,
I hope you all are having a happy new year! I
cant wait to see all of you at our next meeting on
January 14th before or after school in the teaching
theatre. Remember that we are once again
accepting new members so be sure and tell your
friends! Returning members do not have to pay dues
but all new members must complete the new
member forms and pay their dues in room 2606.
Keep an eye out on Facebook and Reming101 for
more information on new events like the Eliminate
Pancake Breakfast and this years lock in. Remember
you are required to have 10 physical and 10 nonphysical or physical hours by the end of the year.
Meetings will be every other Wednesday before and
after school in the Teaching Theater. Make sure you
attend the events you signed and find the officer incharge of the event and sign in with. You must
attend all meetings in-order to remain a member.
Remember that DCON is coming up. Start thinking
about the contests and all the fun! Have a great
semester, and remember that you can be the
change you want to see in this world.

prepared to go to DCON! DCON will be
happening sometime in early April so we
have lots of time to work on contests,
fundraise money, and most importantly:
decide who youre going to room with!

informational meeting all about DCON

The Kids Crazy (and Amazing)

Christmas Show

On December 20th, I had just woken up from a crazy night with
my family, and was really contemplating on whether I should
really do ALL 3 shifts of this so-called Crazy Christmas Show.
Nevertheless, I got up early, ate some breakfast and headed
out to the Berry Center. Right away, when I arrived, a woman in
a huge Christmas sweater, an Aggies Santa hat, and a
Christmas necklace that literally lit up, asked for help inside the
theater. Please, I need 3 volunteers she said with a huge
smile. Eh what the heck I thought and rose my hand. I guess my
courage inspired some more people because 2 more people
raised their hands and shrugged. The woman led us to a
medium sized theater, filled with kids and adults with shirts that
read puppeteer. These are the stars themselves! the
Christmas sweater woman exclaimed. I walked past the
Puppeteers and looked at their carefully detailed puppets as
they posed to take a selfie with them. Everyone! Get to your
places, BACKSTAGGEEE! a man carrying a bald looking
puppet, yelled. The Puppeteers ran back, with puppets in
hand, and got to their places. Kids are going to adore this I
thought. People filled the seats, coming in with strollers and
toddlers. There are plenty of awesome seats in the front, we,
the volunteers said on cue. Any good seats by the aisle? a
young man in a red sweater, leading his family asked me.
Sure, right there, I pointed to a spot right in front of me. The
audience settled down as a man in an apron walked onto the
stage. During the show, and I have no shame in admitting this, I
laughed and laughed until I was almost in tears, (And between
you and me, the kids sitting near me looked at me like I was
crazy. Not even they laughed that hard.) And I was holding
myself back from singing along to the catchy songs. After the
performance, the couple sitting in front of me turned around
and asked if I had enjoyed the show. It was absolutely
amazing! I answered happily, feeling like a kid again. Well, I
guess thats my cue he said, as he got up and walked to the
stage. His wife laughed as she looked at my hopelessly
confused face. Good morning everyone thanks for coming! I
hope you enjoyed this show that was put on by various
talented members of my church. The man with the red
sweater announced. My church, I repeated in my head, my

church. I giggled in my seat as I realized I had

been sitting right behind the pastor and director
of the show. The Kids Crazy Christmas Show was
not just crazy, it was also amazing! And even if I
dont volunteer for this event in the future, I will
definitely continue going to it! I would tell you
more about the show, but Ive never been a

A Very Merry Christmas

The holiday season is all about giving. People of all backgrounds
take extra measures to give back to the community as a thank you
during this time of the year. This year, Key Club presented me with an
opportunity to serve families all over Houston who are unable to buy
gifts or make their own Christmas dinner, due to their current
financial state. The organizers of this event, City Wide Club, are
notorious for reaching out to those in need during the holidays,
including Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, because everyone
deserves an enjoyable time. There are many less fortunate
individuals that live around us, and spending my time to help them
has been one of the most rewarding gifts I could have received this
year. The volunteers were required to do a large range of things in
order for the event to run smoothly. From serving food and bussing
tables to handing out clothes, we did it all. Most of my time spent
during the event was at the mens clothing section. Here, I met
many interesting, lighthearted people. When they came around and
looked at the clothes that were donated, they sang in a joking tune,
ring around the collaaar!. Almost all of the people that visited our
table thanked us for dedicating our Christmas Eve to the community,
regardless of who they were. One man even mentioned, Its a
wonderful thing you young people are doing, giving your time to
help, and it WAS honestly a wonderful experience. Every
volunteer working that day genuinely wanted to give the people
who came the best Christmas possible. In my opinion, that goal was
well achieved. This whole experience opened my eyes to things that
we sometimes overlook. Its important to take time out your usual
routine and put others before you every now and then. During the
holiday season, most of our generation is often thinking about what
could receive from our family and friends, rather than what we
could give back. We are so, so lucky to be granted the opportunities
we have, and I feel that volunteering keeps us grounded. It reminds
us that we should devote what we can to help each other grow.
With that, 2014 has come to its end and 2015 is already here.
Another year to start over, a clean slate. Its time to make our
resolutions 1080p and ACTUALLY carry them out
