Representation Goals
1.
The State Party has determined the demographic composition of African Americans,
Hispanics, Native Americans, and Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the
states Democratic electorate. These constituency percentages shall be established as
goals for representation in the states convention delegation. (Rule 6.A)
2.
The State Party has determined the demographic composition of members of the
LGBT community, people with disabilities, and youth in the states Democratic
electorate and furthermore, the State Party has chosen to establish these percentages
as goals for representation in the states convention delegation.
The percentages are based upon constituency exit polling, data gathered from the
Center for Disease Control, and 2010 US Census data.
Due to inefficient exit polling regarding support for Democratic candidates from
people with disabilities, the Indiana Democratic Party based its Numeric Goal on its
best educated guess by the Affirmative Action Committee.
