LESSON PLAN
SY 2014 2015
SCIENCE 7
SUBJECT MATTER: Transport in Living Organism
DURATION: 50 minutes x 14 days
OBJECTIVES:
The students should be able to learn the following at the end of the lesson:
a. Reasons for the need of a transport system in multicellular
organisms.
b. Describe the transport system in a flowering plant.
c. Describe the process of absorption of water and mineral salts by the
roots of a plant
d. Explain the transport of water and manufactured food in flowering
plants
e. Describe the human transport system.
f. List down the subtances that are transported in the blood
MOTIVATION:
Ask the students how they can able to transport from their house to school.
Let them draw their route from house to school. Explain to the students about the
different of kind of transportation that humans usually used and relate this to the
transportation that is happening in living organism.

Summary of the Lesson

Worksheet
Group Activity
Quiz (Acids and Alkalis, Transport in
Flowering Plant)

PROCEDURE:
1. Introduce the lesson and revise the movement of substances in and out of the
cells. Discuss the difference between the transportation of unicellular cell to
multicellular cells. Give an overview about the transport in flowering plants,
what are the structures of the plants that involved in this mechanism.
2. Discuss the transport in flowering plants. Let the students as classwork draw
in their notebooks how do substances transport inside the root hair. Explain
each of the structures that involve in the process and state their functions and
substances that they transported.

3. Explain the process of involved in circulatory system of a human. Discuss and

give the function of the heart, blood vessel and blood. Shows the different
parts of the heart and the direction of blood through the heart. The students
will draw and colour the heart with the correct direction of the transportation
of blood in their notebook.
4. Discuss and state the importance and function of circulatory system.
5. Give a group activity wherein the students can be able to understand the
lesson.
