Montage
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Course: COMM 130
Date: 2/13/15
Programs used: Adobe Photoshop
Discription: An inspirational montage made by
the blending of two or more images, and the use
of typography.
Objectives: I wanted to show that skateboarding
is about progress like life is.
Process: I cropped the background image to
8.511. I selected the kid skatebarding and
moved him to the background image, then I added a mask. With black paint and a 100% opacity,
soft-edged brush, I painted away the hard image
edges. With a larger black brush at 50% opacity and 100% flow, I blended the image into the
background, so it looks like he is melting into the
scene.

Logos
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Course: COMM 130
Date: 2/20/15
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator
Discription: Three logo variations for the
same company.
Objectives: Show that Sun Inc. is the best
company ever.
Process: I first drew some sketches for ideas.
After I chose my favorite sketches, I got on
Illustrater. I used the shape tool to make the
outlines of each logo. Next, I filled in each
shape with colors and then typed in the company name into each logo.

Letterhead
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Course: COMM 130
Date: 2/27/15
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator
Discription: Matching letterhead and business
card designed using a personally created logo.
Objectives: Show that Sun Inc. is available to
brighten your lawn.
Process: I drew my layouts with a pencil. I
then got on Illustrator and created my stationary and business card. I made the stationary
first and then the business card.

Brochure
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Course: COMM 130
Date: 3/29/15
Programs used: Adobe InDesign
Discription: A two sided folding brochure.
Objectives: Inform my audience about
Freestyle Motocross and what it is.
Process: I went online and found pictures
for my brochure. I looked from some
FMX pictures because I wanted to make
my brochure about FMX. I then went
into InDesign and designed the lay out of
the brochure. I then added the pictures
and text.

Flier
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Course: COMM 130
Date: 1/24/15
Programs used: Adobe InDesign
Discription: A Black & White promotional flier
to promote a graduate leadership conference.
Objectives: Letting students who are graduating
know that there is a graduate leadership conference coming up that can help them in the field
of business.
Process: I drew 4 sketches to brainstorm and
come up with a design. After I decided the one
I liked, I started making it in InDesign. I wanted it to me simple and easy to read so I made
it fairly basic. I wanted all the banners and titles to match so I made them all the same color
scheme.

Event Ad
Instructor: Joel Judkins

Programs used: Microsoft Word
Discription: A color full-bleed event ad to
promote a fundraiser using only Microsoft

Motocross Charity Race.
Process: I scanned the image and then imported it into Microsoft Word. I then added a banner at the top of the image with the
name of the event. I also added the text box
to the top right with the event details. I used
20% transparency on the banner and text

showcase a personally created logo.
