The intense love of Hazrat Sayyidina Abu Bakr Siddique() for the Prophet()
When we look at the various aspects of the personality of Sayyiduna Siddique Akbar(), we find
that they are all rooted in intense love (Ishq) for
the Holy Prophet Muhammad(). We discover
that this love had permeated and spread over every angle of his personality. It is this very distinctive quality of his that is not found anywhere in
human history. And if we were to compile the history of love for the Holy Prophet(), then definitely the first chapter of this book would certainly
be Sayyiduna Siddique Akbar(). If we were to
collect all the affectionate feelings, the painful
heart expressions, and the states of pure love for
the Holy Prophet() of Islam, then the name that
would top the list would be that of Hazrat Abu
Bakr Siddique(). It is indeed thanks to Sayyidina
Abu Bakr Siddique() that the Ummah has been
able to learn how one should love the Holy
Prophet(). In fact, it is indeed through him that
the believer has learnt how he should pay tribute
and express his love for his Beloved Prophet() as
he really deserves.
His accepting Islam without asking for proof.
His acceptance of his beloveds sayings without
proof was so much in his inner core self that it has
to be noted that when Quranic revelations first
came to the Holy Prophet(), Sayyiduna Abu Bakr
Siddique() was not even in Macca Shareef but
had travelled to Yemen on a business trip. When
he came back he first met the leaders of the Quraish. They asked him, O Abu Bakr, havent you
heard the latest news ? He replied, What
news ? So they told him, The orphaned
nephew of Abu Tlib has just claimed to be the
Prophet() of Allah. When Sayyiduna Abu Bakr

Siddique() heard this news, his heart jumped as if

it was waiting to hear about this for such a long
time. He immediately left there and came to meet
Allahs Messenger() and asked him, Have you
announced your Prophethood ? When the Holy
Prophet() replied affirmatively, at that very moment Sayyiduna Siddique Akbar() expressed his
acceptance of Islam and said, I heartily accept
you as Allahs true Messenger. His overwhelming love did not ask for any proof nor did he feel
any hesitation to have faith. On one hand, he was
the only person who entered Islam without asking
for proof and at the same time he received the
unique honour to be the first male person to embrace Islam. The Messenger of Allah always used
to praise these two actions and on several occasions he also mentioned about it.
Once the Holy Prophet() said, To whomsoever I
ever presented Islam, there has always been some
kind of hesitation but when I presented it to Abu
Bakr Siddique(), he accepted without the least
hesitation. In Hadith Bukhari Shareef, it is reported on the authority of Sayyidina Abu Darda
() that once between Sayyidina Siddique Akbar
() and Sayyidina Umar Faarooq(), there was
some kind of misunderstanding. As a result,
Hazrat Umar() became angry. Sayyidina Abu
Bakr Siddique() did present his apologies but
they were not accepted by Hazrat Umar(). So
Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique() went to the Holy
Prophet () and emptied his heart thus, I have
apologized to Umar but he did not pay attention. Later Sayyidina Umar Faarooq() regretted and thought, Why did I not accept the
apologies of Sayyidina Siddique Akbar() ? He

personally went to the house of Sayyiduna Siddique Akbar() but he was not there ; so he went
to the Holy Prophet(). When the Holy Prophet()
saw Hazrat Umar(), sources have it that his blessed face changed colour (because of anger). Sensing this situation, Sayyiduna Siddique Akbar()
stood on his knees and said, Yaa Rassoolullah
(), Indeed I am at fault ! and he intervened in
favour of Hazrat Umar bin Khattaab() so that
the Prophet() would not be angry at Hazrat
Umar(). The Messenger of Allah, addressing
Sayyidina Umar() said : When Allah sent me
as Messenger to you people, everyone accused me
of falsehood. There was only Abu Bakr who stood
by me, accepted me and spent his life and wealth
for me. At least, for my sake, cant you forgive my
friend ? Twice he asked, Would you keep on
annoying him ? . In other words, the Holy
Prophet() wanted to point out that even if
something had happened because of Siddique Akbar(), then for my sake, why have you not overlooked the matter. Dont you know how much
sacrifice he has undergone because of me ?
His acceptance of the Miraj without proof
When Allah Taala decided to show his entire
kingdom to his Beloved Messenger, he bestowed
to him the event of Miraaj and the Holy Prophet
() returned from the skies to inform the nation
about his voyage in a very short time from Masjid
Haraam to Masjid Aqsa and from there on towards the skies up to the Divine Proximity.
When this news came to the Unbelievers of Macca, they created a whole mess and began asking
how it could be possible to cover such a long distance within a very short time. They went to several Muslims and tried to revert them from Islam.
The unbelievers were at that time unaware of the
strong faith of Sayyiduna Siddique Akbar().
They were already feeling happy that today such a
wise man like Abu Bakr will never accept such a
thing when he will come to know about it.
So many great leaders of Quraish met and went to
see Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique(). The latter asked them why they came. The Kuffaar told him
that there was an important matter to be discussed. They asked him, Do you think it is possible

for one man to go from Masjid Haraam to Masjid

Aqsa and then return in one night ? Apart from that
can he travel the skies and reach the farthest limit
and come back ? Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique()
replied, Of course not, thats impossible ! The
unbelievers were so happy because they felt that it
was their day and there were finally tasting
succcess. The unbelievers went on to say, It is
your Prophet() who is claiming to have accomplished such a feat . When Sayyiduna Siddique Akbar
() heard this, he said, If such talk has come out
from the lips of my master, then I accept it
wholeheartedly . When the unbelievers heard
this, they were devastated, completely disappointed and they returned.
Here it is worthy to note that he could have said,
Let me first go and ask my Prophet() about it.
Because at that moment, Sayyiduna Siddique Akbar() had not yet heard anything about the
Miraaj from the Holy Prophet() himself. But he
had strong faith in Rassoolullah() and his intimate
conviction was that if the Prophet() had said
anything, then it should be true. Such was the Imaan
of Sayyiduna Siddique Akbar().
According to Tabaaqat Ibn Saad(), the Holy
Prophet() had asked Hazrat Jibreel(), When I
shall go back and announce to the people that I
have been granted the journey of Miraaj, definitely
no one will believe me. Upon this, Hazrat Jibreel
() had said, Yaa Rassoolulallah(), whether
anyone accepts or not, most certainly Abu Bakr will
accept it and in fact he is actually Siddique.

The virtues Black Seed (Habba-tus Sawda(

Hazrat Abu Huraira(t), narrated in the correct prophetic
traditions that Allah's Messenger said: "Use this black
seed regularly, because it has a cure for every disease except death" (Reported by Bukhari).
The Black Seed plant is also known by other names, and
they vary between places. Some calI it black caraway,
others calI it black cumin, or Indian cumin, or even coriander seeds. Nevertheless, this is the Nigella sativa, which
has been known and used for over two thousand years,
and is also known in Persian as Shonaiz. Others call it
Caloonji or Mangrayla. The ancient Egyptians knew and
used the black seed and described it as a medical botanical in their papyrology. The Romans also knew this seed,
called it Greek coriander seed, and used it as a dietary
supplement.
A special oil is extracted from the fennel flower seeds
which is then used in the preparation of medical formulas
and benefits bronchitis and coughs, helps increase body
tone, acts as a digestive tonic, quells belching, dries up
damp stomach, stimulates excretion, of urine, dissolves
wind, quells colic pain and stomach-gas colic, expels
worms from the intestinal tract, removes patches of leukoderma, benefits some skin allergies, quells quartan
phlegmonous fever, opens obstructions, stimulates menstrual period, increase the flow of breast milk and can
cause excessive salivation. Adding a few drops of its oil to
coffee calms the nervous system, and helps pertussis, dry
cough, asthma, and bronchial respiratory complaints. Taking the black seed oil unmixed or undiluted can produce
gripe, and greatly irritates the digestive system .In his
'Canon of Medicine', Avicenna maintains that "the black
seed acts as an expectorant, it stimulates the body's energy, and helps recovery from fatigue and dispiritedness".
Placing the powdered black seeds in a cloth and inhalin
them regularly helps reduce the effects of common colds.
The Blessed companions of the Holy Prophet(r) used to
place twenty-one black seeds in a linen cloth which they
soaked overnight in water, and in the morning, they used
to place drops of this solution in each nostril to help relieve nasal congestion, and head cold distress.
In fact, the black seed has numerous benefits for all cold
and wet illnesses, and can certainly benefit some hot and
dry illnesses such as conjunctivitis, whereby combining a
limited quantity of black seeds with other drugs can help
accelerate their penetration.
Black seed is hot and dry in the third degree. A decoction
of black seeds helps in the treatment of abnormal absence of menstruation and menstrual difficulties, kills
intestinal worms, as weIl as helps tertian fever, paralysis,

and piles among other illnesses. A decoction of black

seeds can promote contraction of the uterus after
birth, and it benefits eruptive skin diseases. Adding
the black seed to one's diet helps gout, and it can
balance the uric acid in the blood.
Black seeds also help reduce swellings, and remove
scales in ringworm, Drinking a decoction of crushed
black seeds sweetened with honey can help dissolve
gallstones and kidney stones.
A poultice of black seed benefits in the treatment of
jaundice and helps to retrieve worts. As a head bandage, black seeds can abate headaches. Cooking
black seeds with vinegar and rinsing ones mouth
with it helps the gums, and relieves toothache .
Snuffing a solution of ground black seeds in water
reduces excessive tearing.
A decoction of finely powdered black seeds prepared
with a salve base of essential oil of coriander seeds,
and placing three drops ofit in each ear relieves common cold, opens obstructions and dissolves wind.
Frying whole black seeds, finely grinding
them up, then soaking them in any vegetable oil, and
placing three to four drops in each nostril relieves
common cold symptoms and nasal congestions accompanied by excessive sneezing.
Lastly, as a supplement, one should not take more
than two drams daily with water. In fact, the medical
benefits contained in the black seeds are numerous,
and to know them, one must study the works of wise
physicians. However, some physicians claim that eating the black seed excessively can cause death.
From such extensive healing traits among other properties contained in this blessed seed, we can understand the meaning contained in the divine words
of the holy Qur'anic verse: It destroys everythingby
the permission of its Lord (Qur'an 46:25 (meaning
everything, or any morphological structure that is
subject to destruction -that is, annihilation of the
arrogance and activities of the nonbelievers against
the divine revelation, before bringing them to reckoning. Therefore, the correct religious analytical concept of "a cure for every illness except death" has its
canonical limitations as in the Qur'anic verse relating
to honey, where God Almighty says: in it, there is
cure for people. (Qur'an 16:69), and the majority of
scholars agree that honey cures many people from
many illnesses, but it does not cure all people from
all illnesses.
