1.2 GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT ESGO4000

Optima electronical sliding gate operators are designed for high traffic, commercial and
industrial applications.
ESGO 4000 operator is suitable for doors which weigh up to 4000 kg. The operator is
completely heavy duty. Cabinet is manufactured from 2.5 mm thick sheet metal, galvanized,
electrostatically epoxy powder coated.
Control electronics is microprocessor PLC controlled.Every kind of radio control receiver cards,
safety photocell, open/close buttons, loop dedectors, flashing light etc. can be integrated to the system
easily. Any kind of card readers, biometric readers, radio control, key switches etc can be used to start
or stop the electromechanical sliding gate operator, with the help of PLC (Programmable Logical
Control) controls. Closing the sliding gate can be utilized by automatic time delay facility, as well as
inputs from other sources.Time delay can be adjusted between any time interval by PLC.Optionally by
integrating freguency controller to the control electronics movement control of the gate can be
achieved. For example, slow start for an adjustible period, fast linear motion for another adjustible
period and finally again an adjustible slow stop can be achieved. This facility allows the user to adjust
the gate speed according to the requestments without loosing torque.

2.1 Mechanical Components
Main mechanical elements forming the construction are heavy duty, base plate, mechanism
and anchoring plate. Its made of steel S235JR / RAEX 250 quality 37 at least. A Rubber wheel is
used to prevent vibration and noise of sliding gate. The shafts are made of hardened. Parts forming
the drive unit, namely, gears, motor, etc. are very precisely manufactured so that they can stand
harsh environmental conditions. All the parts are hot dip galvanized (60 micrometers) / RustPrevention (Epoxy Coated) painted in order to prevent rusting. The electromechanical sliding gate
operator will be installed in reinforced concrete foundation.

2.3 Electrical and Electronics Components

Control electronics utilized in electromechanical sliding gate operator is PLC controlled.
Open/close function can be achieved by every kind of card readers, biometric readers like fingerprint
or hand shape, radio control, on/off switches or key switches etc. Besides, safety accessories like
inductive loop detectors, photocells, flashing lights or red/green lights can be integrated to control
electronics very easily. Power requirement of the electromechanical sliding gate operator is 220 VAC
50~60 Hz.
As you see below the drawing, we use a sensor for reduction the speed of sliding gate operator. By
means of this sensor, when the gate is closed or opened , gate will be damp at end point. And so the
operator will be run much high performance.

3.1. PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION OF THE FOUNDATION

Dig a hole of 35 x 55 x 15 cm for the

foundation on which the electromechanical
sliding gate operator will stand. The measure
of 55cm should be parallel to sliding gate. Pour
high cement dosage concrete into the hole.
During the preparation of the concrete, it is
advised to use coarse sand.

Place the anchoring plate into the concrete

foundation it should be parallel to the ground.
For the power cables of the sliding gate, place
the cable hose in to the concrete foundation
before pouring the concrete. Wait for one day
for the concrete foundation to be ready for the
mounting of the sliding gate operator onto it.
In the rainy and cold weather conditions, the
casing time of the concrete will be longer.
Fig.1 Plate Foundation Preperation abd Installation of the Anchoring

Before mounting the sliding gate mechanism onto

the anchoring plate, be sure that the concrete
foundation is ready. Place the sliding gate
mechanism as the pivoting bolts on the anchoring
plate will pass through the holes on the sliding
gate mechanism. Tighten the metric 12 nuts to

and finally it will be stop slowly by frequency convertor. This feature is an optional accessory.

5. MAINTENANCE
In the electromechanical sliding gate operator, anti-friction bearings are used. Thus, it does not
need frequent lubrication. However, for harsh outdoor working conditions and high frequency usage,
it is advised that the electromechanical sliding gate operator should be maintained periodically after
two years of time. This periodic maintenance should be made by skilled technicians.

17

6. PRACTICAL TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES

If the electromechanical sliding gate operator seems not to be working (properly):
-

Make sure there is power. Check 220V current inputs.

Check limit switch-cable connections.

Check PLC (programmable logical control) cable connections.

If the PLC is OK but electromechanical sliding gate operator is not running, check motor
input cable connections.

If electromechanical sliding gate operator seems not to be working normally check

photocell cable connections.

* If the system is not running after all these controls please contact with the manufacturer.
