English speakers need to give special attention to the so=called back ch and front ch. Listen
carefully to the recordings. The back ch is pronounced in the back of the mouth. It is usually
preceded by an a, o, u, or au. The front ch, produced in the front of the mouth, is preceded by any
letter other than a, o, u, au, or s. The front ch is similar to the English h in huge.

2. Look at the list of Adjektive und Adverbien. Find all of the time adjectives and adverbs and list
the ones that can answer the question wann? Then look at the list of Ausdrcke and see if any
other phrases could be used to answer the question wann.
