I.

INTRODUCTION
(1) Christ the King College, through its holistic, evangelizing, and
transformative education, offers a variety of choices in which a CKCian
can mold his or her talents in school. Talents come in a diverse way.
Many people are talented in singing, but are not good in dancing, vice
versa. Some are also talented in different skills, such as inter and
intra personal relationship, and some are also inclined in the field of
leadership1.
(2) Christ the King College molds its future leaders through the different
leadership organizations present in the institution.
(3) The highest form of student leadership present in CKC High School
Department is called the Student Body Association, colloquially called
as the SBA.
(4) SBA is the main leader of the CKCian community, and is also the
representative of the Student Body in different interschool
organizations and seminars the school wants to join in.

II.

WHO ARE THE STUDENT BODY ASSOCIATION MEMBERS?


a. Student Body Association Major Officers
(5)The Student Body Association Major Officers (SBAMO) are
composed of the President of the Body, which is also the
overall president of the Student Body and the main
representative of the school in the different organizations
such as the SBO and the Interact. 2
(6)The Vice President, the Secretaries, the Treasurers, the
Auditors, and the Press Relation Officers (PROs) of the SBA
Association.3
(7)The SBAMO is commonly referred to as simply SBA.
(8)The SBAMO is elected before the end of the school year
before their term;
(9)The SBAMO term or position is renewable as long as the
member or officer seeks for a reelection or a higher position.
(10) The SBAMO is governed by the Coordinator of Students
Activities, which is, in turn, the SBA Adviser.
a. Student Body Association Minor Officers
(11) The SBA Minor Officers are composed of the Class
Presidents of each of the different sections of the grade
levels4.
(12) The SBA Minor Officers are elected commonly one month
after the opening of classes.
(13) The SBA Minor Officers are elected for one term only, and
that is for one school year only.

(14) They can seek reelection but representing another grade
level and section.
III.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF SBA OFFICERS


a. General Roles (Roles of The Unified Association)
(15) To ensure the welfare of CKCians inside the school;
(16) To aid the administration in promoting a peaceful
atmosphere in the Christ the King College Community;
(17) To act as the mediatior in the different projects presented
by the students, through the Class Presidents, to the
administration;
(18) To promote responsible use of Social Media;
(19) To be champions of ethics in social media;
(20) To represent Christ the King College in different
organizations outside the school;
(21) To represent Christ the King College in different seminars
in which the school needs to be represented for;
(22) To act as judges in the different grade levels of the
Selection of the Cleanest Classrooms for the different
months of the school year;
1. The different criteria in the selection of the cleanest
classrooms will be stipulated in the second
enclosure of this code of conduct.
2. The results for each year level must be summarized
and to be filled up in a single summary sheet
stipulated in the third enclosure of this code of
conduct.
(23) To act as the main committee for the different programs in
the school, such as the Personnels Day, Students Day, and
the like;
(24) To act as the implementors of the different programs in
the school, such as the KKKK program;
(25) To promote cleanliness in the Christ the King College
community;
(26) To update regularly the bulletin board of the Office of
Coordinator for Students Affairs and the SBA Bulletin
Board;
(27) To participate in Community Involvement Program
anchored activities; and
(28) To become the leaders and the role models of fellow
CKCians.
b. SBA President
(29) Main representative of the Association in different
organizations outside the school;
(30) The voice of the Association as s/he speaks up not only
for the ten member group but also to the whole studentry;
and
(31) Obeys and follows the Christ the King College Basic
Student Guidelines Handbook (CKC BSGH) STRICTLY and
ACCORDINGLY.
c. SBA Vice President
(32) To assist the president in implementing rules and
regulations imposed by the administration and the Student
Body Association

d. SBA Secretary and Assistant Secretary
(33) To record the different minutes of the meetings, formal or
informal, of the Student Body Association;
(34) Calls fellow class secretaries and circle secretaries in
Secretaries Meeting;
(35) Checks the attendance in every Council of Leaders
meeting;
(36) Collects the minutes of the meeting every after monthly
homeroom meeting and updates the list of classes who
submits and who dont regularly; and
(37) Collates the different minutes of the meeting of every
classes, circles and even the SBA related meetings for
completion purposes at the end of the school year.
e. SBA Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer
(38) Updates the Student Body Association Fund (SBA Fund)
from each of the class treasurers every semester;
(39) Collects the First Semestral and Second Semestral fund
for the Associations Expenditures; and
(40) Assists the SBA Auditors to make and update the
Statement of Accounts (SoA) for the School Year, and
present the remaining balance of the Association to the SBA
Adviser for completion purposes at the end of the school
year.
f. SBA Auditor and Assistant Auditor
(41) Keeps a record of all the Associations financial records
and expenditures;
(42) Calculates the funds and the expenditures of the
Association if it reflects on the current fund of the
Association;
(43) Makes an annual report called the Statement of Accounts
(SoA)56; and
(44) Presents the annual report or the SoA to the CCSA or the
SBA Adviser for the completion purposes at the end of the
school year7.

g. SBA PRO and Assistant PRO


(45) Dissiminates the information needed to the different class
officers of different grade levels.
TERM LENGTH
(46)
The term length for an SBA Officer is from the date of first day of
classes until the last day of the school year (commonly the
Recognition Day of GS and HS).
(47)
An SBA Officer elect will not assume his/her position after the
SBA Elections, his/her term will be effective starting the first day of
classes until the last day of the school year.

a. Qualifications
(48)
A student running for a position in the Student
Body Association must be:

A bonafide student and a resident of Christ the King
College, High School Department for One (1) school
year8;
(50)
Clean from all red marks and must no have C- in
any of his/her personal records9;
(51)
Academically proficient with no grade lower than
85.00 in the preceding quarter (that is, third grading
period of the current school year) 10;
(52)
A service oriented student11;
(53)
Showing
good
potentialities
for
Christian
Leadership12; and
(54)
A good practicing student of his/her own profession
of faith13.
b. Filing the Certificate of Candidacy
(55)
The student who wishes to run for a specific
position in the SBA must secure his/her certificate of
candidacy from the CCSA or the SBA Adviser (please see
Enclosure number 1);
(56)
The student must HONESTLY fill up the said
certificate of candidacy, from the name, grade and
section, and any other different information about the
candidate.
(57)
The student must HONESTLY answer the essay
type question from the said certificate;
(58)
The student must HONESTLY check the different
conditions set in the certificate of candidacy;
(59)
The student must secure his/her signature with
his/her printed name;
(60)
The student must secure a signature of his/her
adviser with his/her printed name;
(61)
The student must secure a signature of the
incumbent SBA president;
(62)
The student must submit the said certificate of
candidacy to the SBA Adviser;
(63)
The said certificate must be submitted one week
prior to the elections; and
(64)
Failure to do so will cause the disqualification of the
said candidate in the elections.

c. Miting de Avance
(65)
The Miting de Avance should be a gathering of all
students in order to see and determine the candidates
strengths, weaknesses, and platforms in terms of
leadership, and their plans for the Christ the King
College community;
(66)
The Miting de Avance is commonly scheduled on
the day of elections, therefore, the Miting de Avance will
be held in the morning, while the election proper right
after the latter;
(67)
The Miting de Avance shall start with an invocation
to be led by someone assigned;
(68)
The SBA President should
deliver an opening remarks to formally start the event;
(69)
There will be a roll call of candidates with one by
one appearing in the stage;
(70)
Right after the roll call, the prepared speeches will
be executed, with the order from the President, Vice
President, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, and PRO;
(71)
The speech should be at minimum of 2 minutes
but at maximum of 4 minutes;
(72)
The speech should contain the identity of the
candidate, his or her platforms, his or her
proposed projects, and other things he or she
wants to include in his or her speech;
(73)
The speech should be more on substance
than of gimmicks;
(74)
Gimmicks are allowed, to the extent that they
will not suffice the total time of the candidate;
(75)
Right after all the candidates have executed their
speech, the question and answer portion will begin;
(76)
The questions are prepared by the outgoing SBA
members not seeking for reelection, higher
position, or graduating SBA Officers days prior to
the SBA Election;
(77)
The questions should be confidential and should be
disclosed to the candidates and the public on the day of
Miting de Avance itself;
(78)
The questions should involve the CKC Community,
questions that will test his or her priorities,
responsibilities, by making questions that are situational
or behavioral in nature;
(79)
The candidates are given 1 minute to think for their
answers and another minute to answer it;
(80)
The candidates are allowed to use the 1 minute to
think if they are already ready with their answers;
(81)
Right after the question and answer portion, if time
wills it, questions from the studentry are allowed to be
lifted if it is allowed by the SBA Officers and the SBA
Adviser;
(82)
Questions from the candidates personal and
private life are not allowed;
(83)
All candidates should be able to present for the
duration of Miting de Avance;
(84)
The integrity of the Miting de Avance should be
kept high at all times. Therefore, any conduct of
unbecoming of a CKCian is not allowed; and

(85)
Failure to comply with aforementioned guidelines
are subject to sanction of the committee on elections.
d. Electoral Process
This part of the code of conduct is lifted from DO 47, s.2014 of the
Department of Education, Constitution and By-Laws of the Supreme
Pupil Government and Supreme Student Government in Elementary
and Secondary Schools.

(86)
The electoral process will begin after the lunch
break on the day of Miting de Avance, that is, 1:00 PM,
onwards;
(87)
All polling places (the classrooms) shall be opened
from 1:00 PM to the time that all students present have
already voted. All those within the premises of the
polling places will be allowed to vote.
(88)
The classroom advisers, together with the class
officers should always ensure that all polling locations
have the following:
(89)
A legal sized tally sheet, to be filled up by either
class secretary or the class adviser for the tallying
process (see Enclosure number 4);
(90)
List of candidates written in the blackboard;
(91)
A 6 column by 5 row arrangement of chairs in
the classroom;
(92)
A finalized list of enrollment, up to date, for the
verification purposes;
(93)
Ballot boxes given by the election committee (the
SBA Officers); and
(94)
Enough number of ballots for every voters in the
classroom.
(95)
Ballots should be uniform in size and color. The
ballots should contain enough places for the voter to
write his or her candidates;
(96)
The SBA Officers should prepare the official ballots
for the entire studentry. They can secure this through
asking the official number of enrollees in the Registrars
Office, and asking the official breakdown per section;
(97)
No ballots other than the official ballot will be
accepted as official; and
(98)
No one is allowed to hold the ballot box if the
electoral process is happening and until the casting of
votes end and the counting process begins.
e. Election Tabulation and Validation
This part of the code of conduct is lifted from DO 47, s.2014 of the
Department of Education, Constitution and By-Laws of the Supreme
Pupil Government and Supreme Student Government in Elementary
and Secondary Schools.

(99)
As soon as the casting of votes is finished, the poll
clerks of each classroom shall count the votes in the
said classroom;
(100) The adviser, then, should fill up the necessary
information in the tally sheet given to them;
(101) Right after the tabulation process in the classroom,
the adviser should give the enrollment list with
signatures, the tally sheet, and the ballot box with the
votes casted to the Board of Election Inspectors
assigned by the CCSA or the SBA Adviser;

(102) The election tabulation should happen in the school
lobby, and things such as blackboards wide enough for
tabulation, and a laptop with a Microsoft Excel
application and file for SBA Elections should be
prepared at least a day before the elections;
(103) The BEI then should check if all the requirements
are fully filled up;
(104) Right after the votes are validated, one of the BEIs
should dictate the election results to the one operating
the Microsoft Excel File then signing it for verification
purposes;
(105) Right after this, the votes can be tabulated in the
blackboard. The SBA Officers should be the only
officials who will tabulate the results manually;
(106) The SBA Officers should always put accuracy
at all times;
(107) SBA Officers seeking for reelection or higher
position are barred from being the tabulators;
(108) After all the sections of a grade level have finished
voting and all of their votes are tabulated, the SBA
Officers can write the results;
(109) The SBA Officers should use calculators, and should
not rely on the Excel file for the subtotal;
(110) The SBA Officers should always put accuracy in
computing the subtotal;
(111) Computing
subtotals
manually
is
highly
discouraged;
(112) Right after the results for all grade levels are
finished; the tabulators can already write the final
total;
(113) Again, calculators will be used for this process and
not the Excel File;
(114) Accuracy for the result should be at high risk;
(115) After the results have been computed
manually, the tabulators should compare it to
the Excel File and check for discrepancies;
(116) If discrepancies happen, the
