STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Education is a tool that puts one on a fast track to acquiring knowledge and
personality that sets one apart from the crowd. It is one bottom less hole; no
matter how much one pours him into it, he thirsts for more.

Desire and dedication have been the essence of my life, guiding me through the most mystifying
predicaments. With my good score in the graduation entrance test, I got an admission for
undergraduate studies in a premier Institute V R Siddhartha Engineering College, Vijayawada
which is reckoned as one of the prestigious colleges in stature and standing. I focused on opting
for civil engineering because it has encompassed all the facets of my childhood interest.
Concentrating on the subjects I opted in my undergraduate study I was involved in many
academic activities that enhanced my knowledge and gave me invaluable experience. Being a
college badminton team captain reflects my leadership qualities. In my undergraduate study for
the first time we are involved in one month training about the activities that took place in High
rise structures and gone through many of the structural types and different structural elements
practically that we tackled in our class room study theoretically. This real world situation gave
me incredible experience.
Consciously my project in undergraduate study is related to structures in small lift irrigation
scheme. Day by day my interest in STRUCTURES has been perching high. Being placed in a
prestigious construction company in my final year I was fascinated to work in STRUCTURAL
DESIGN consultancy. That one and half year tenure gave me a clear picture of the role of a
CIVIL ENGINEER in nation development and helped me to apply theoretical knowledge in to
practice by valuable suggestions from Structural engineers by involving in many projects. This
work experience is a driving factor for me to choose STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING in my
post graduate education by qualifying in top rank through Post Graduate entrance exam.
Choosing Structural engineering as my regular course work I strived to get knowledge of the
subjects in the course work. Apart from the college hours I also used to work for five hours at
home. Proceeding with same interest my two semesters which involve subjects are done. I was
introduced to STRUCTURAL DYNAMCIS in first semester and its applications (Earthquake
engineering), my interest in STRUCTURAL DYNAMICS is a special one.
By referring to the journals from your esteemed RESEARCH CENTRE and information from
our professors about the highly sophisticated laboratories in your renowned centre and my
interest in structural dynamics gave me a positive insight to apply for pursuing my project work
in post graduation. This is a challenging task but I can assure that I can do at my best for
finishing the tasks that are assigned to me without fail. This work experience helps me a lot in
gaining knowledge and planning for my professional career as a teacher.
