User Acceptance and System Test Checklist
Due to the similarities between User Acceptance Test and to System Test (both test the solution in its entirety), this checklist
applies to both.
o Ensure the approach identifies all interfaces to data sources and destinations.
o Ensure the approach addresses entire business functions (i.e., tests the systems from a business user’s point
of view).
o Ensure the approach addresses quality at the system level: performance, flexibility, usability, and
reliability.
o Ensure the work plan has users involved in all aspects of the test.
o Ensure the work plan includes all tasks, resources, and budgets.
• Plan and prepare inputs to the test to meet the exit criteria: test approach and requirements.
Portal Tests
Ensure that the Public Folders structure follows the Report and Roster structure. All
relevant Rosters are displayed and accessible, and all navigation works correctly.

The Completeness Tests verify that all input records are represented in the destination
reports. Spot-check values on the reports to ensure that counts and averages are showing
the correct ranges and values. Due to the volume of tests and data, sample test scripts
will be used to ensure testing occurs effectively and efficiently.
For example, identify Security Tests: test to ensure that only authorized users can access
the application. Ensure that users with restricted access see only the relevant sections of
the Portal and the reports.
For example, identify Access Tests: test to ensure that the user can access the application
from any networked PC via a web browser, without any client software installed (other
than required 3rd party tools such as Adobe).
o Maintain cross-references between input data, output data, and test conditions.

Ensure the expected results are easy to understand by the executor.
o Populate databases.
o Ensure that any common test data used during the various stages of testing is up-to-date.
o Communicate standards and procedures for the test to the test team.
