Organization Background: ENDA (http://www.endatiersmonde.org), conceived in 1972 in Dakar, Senegal in close relationship with the African Institute for Economic
Development and Planning (IDEP) with UNEP and ASDI funding in 1972, is an International NGO, having a Headquarters Agreement with the Government of Senegal, and
comprised of 23 entities throughout Africa and other parts of the world (Latin America, Asia, etc.). These entities are all working autonomously and collaboratively to address
the issues related to multiple diverse concerns regarding environment, poverty elimination and development. Enda is operating through action-research, experiments,
coaching, technical assistance, political pressure and social and citizen mobilization. By working daily with the populations, especially the most vulnerable, Enda is able to
support dynamic changes, most often embryonic, fertilized by the people themselves. ENDA is a UN/ECOSOC-accredited NGO.
