What we talked about

Talked about classes, plans for the summer, about
March Madness
I gave her a Taiwanese pineapple cake. I spoke to her in
Chinese. We talked about cultural differences between
Asia and America.
Visited my room and asked about advice for making
long lasting relationships with other people and about
pressure from parents.
Met Yuwen in the Mason study lounge and invited her
to dinner with me afterwards. Invited her to come to
MRULE with me sometime.
Talked about classes, plans for the summer, about
ballroom dance competitions and balancing that with

I am most concerned by

(Be sure to answer both)

when I reflect

I am most encouraged by how well our small MASP team communicate and work together well; we talk often
on GroupMe. I am most concerned by how often we meet in person and I am encouraging us to do so more
often.

I am most encouraged by Rhyans positivity in everything he does, especially on the job. I am concerned by
his focus because he has to balance both his part time job, being an iCA, his classes, and his med school
plans! Hes a great guy, Im hoping hes able to destress often.

I am most encouraged by the service we do to assist Allen Neighborhood Center. I am most concerned by the
proximity of the community service locations from campus.

Personal Reflection and Work Load

Provide a brief statement of how you are doing in class, on the job, and personally. Also, in reference to your student interactions,
what learning, discoveries, or realizations did you have?

This week Ive realized that I have to start initiating more meetings about the next MASP ELO with my work team,
because April is coming soon! I am encouraging us to meet up more often, and hope that we can plan an event that
can be friendly to international students as well (the kickball event was a great turnout, but not too diverse). I have
met with my SSS students already and have to log that into MAPWORKS as well (Ive been behind on recording in MAPWorks, I apologize). I plan to attend the next MRULE this Tuesday and want to initiate lunches/dinners with my SSS
students because I feel like I only talk to them about school everytime I see them. The TEELO this week was
interesting, I learned a lot about undocumented students; before, I never thought about the barriers they face in order
to get an educationa barrier that the rest of us do not worry about because it never affected us. I hope this problem
is brought up to higher MSU or even state authorities in the future. Looking forward to doing my best in the job the last
couple weeks of the semester!
