A) Narrative: It was the hardest lesson I ever learnt.
Level: C-D
I like to watch motorbike racing. I want to get my own motorbike . My father said I cannot have my
own bike until I have finished my SPM. He always tells me I am too young. It is very dangerous .He also talks
about lumba haram or illegal racing. He warns me not to do that. I feel very sad. Some of my friends have
their own motorbikes. My father doesnt know I want to be a racer.
Sometimes, my friends asked me to go racing. First, I was scared that my father will know. But, I dont
want my friends to make fun of me. So I decided to join them. We would go racing at the nearby kampung,
somewhere in Tuaran. Then I would go home late and tell my parents, Got school activities.
One day, one of my friends said, he wanted to celebrate his birthday party. He wanted us to join him.
My friends wanted to go motorbike racing and I said ok. Then we went to Tuaran in the late evening. I cheated
my parents that I was going to a friends house for birthday and I would come back the next day.
I was very unlucky because during the race, my friends and I injured ourselves. We panicked when we
heard the police siren. The village people had complained about us. The police stopped us. Some of my friends
tried to escape. We ran home as fast as we could.
Finally the police called our parents .I was very scared because my father was very angry. I promised
that I would never race or lie again. It was the hardest lesson I have ever learnt.

B) Descriptive: Describe a place you would like to visit.

I would like to visit Kundasang. People told me Kundasang is very cold. I have never been there before.
So I would love to go there.
Why do I want to visit Kundasang? It is because I want to see Mount Kinabalu. I want to see with my
own eyes. I want to feel cold weather. Mount Kinabalu must be very beautiful. I always sing the Gunung
Kinabalu song. One day I want to go there.
People say in Kundasang we can buy a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits. There are also flowers that we
can buy. I can buy some for my family to cook.
As a conclusion, Kundasang is a really nice place to visit. I hope I can go there one day.

C) Argumentative:
Do you agree that tuition is a waste of time and money?
Level: C - D
Do you agree that tuition is a waste of time and money? I say yes. Students who go to tuition centres
are just wasting time and money. If we study hard in school and pay attention when our teacher teaches, we can
still get a good grade. All we need to do is study hard and change our attitude.
Students will waste their parents money if they go to tuition centres but dont have the mood to study.
If they are lazy and dont want to study then their results will not improve. If they are hardworking, then even
the lessons in the classroom is enough to let them pass the examination.
Tuition is also a waste of time and money because parents will spend a lot of time sending the students
to tuition and waiting for them to finish. The money they spend on petrol is also wasted if the students dont
have a good attitude or are too lazy.
In a conclusion, tuition is a waste of money and time because it depends on the students themselves if
they have the right attitude in studying or not. As long as they have the motivation to study, then they can get
good results even if they do not go for tuition.

D) Expository/Narrative:

Hope

Level: C-D
One rainy morning, I heard something crying in a drain on my way home from school. I looked around
in the drain and saw a dirty looking kitten looking up at me. I felt sorry for the little kitten and decided to save
it. I brought it home. I washed her and dried her with a towel. Then I gave her some milk to drink. She was very
hungry because she licked the milk very quickly.
I showed her to my parents when they came back from work. My father was a little mad. He did not
allow us to keep pets in our house. But my mother praised me for my kindness. She said I have saved a life. She
also said I could keep the kitten if I promise to take care of her. I was very happy. I picked up my kitten and
hugged her. I named her Hope.
Hope was brown in colour. She had big round eyes and big ears, which looked like rabbits ears. She
liked to play with me. She would come to me whenever I came back from school. But one day I came home and
I couldnt find Hope. She just disappeared. I really hope one day Hope will come back to me because I miss her.
