Topic : A Hen and A Snake
Lesson summary: Teacher begins the lesson by getting the pupils to rap a
jazz chant which helps to introduce the two main characters of the story:
the hen and the snake. Teacher shares a story by reading aloud from a
big book. Reading aloud is going to carry out for three time which passive
to gradual active involvements of the pupils. Pupils are then work in
groups to compete by playing different roles in reading aloud, making the
appropriate sounds in response to the mood of the story and dramatize
the story by using stick puppets. The pupils are to reinforce their
comprehension of the story by answering a set of graded comprehension
questions verbally and in writing individually.
Objectives of the lesson: by the end of the lesson, pupils should be able
to:
Listen to and respond to the story entitled The Hen and The Snake
read aloud by the teacher from a big book
In group, read aloud and act out accordingly the story The Hen and
The Snake by using stick puppets
Individually, answer verbally and in written correctly at least 5 out of
7 questions appropriately.
