Project Title: Traffic Powered Renewable Energy

Problem: The number of consumers of electricity has now increased owing to the
rapid urbanization process. The availability of regular conventional fossil fuels will
be the main sources for power generation, but there is a fear that they will get
exhausted eventually by the next few decades. Therefore, we have to investigate
some approximate, alternative, new sources for the power generation, which is not
depleted by the very few years.

Solution: In order to reduce the load on national grid we need to produce the
power which is cheaper and portable. As London is the largest city of the Europe,
and its population is increasing rapidly, will result in heavy traffic load on the roads.
And no one can control to minimize it.
So, why not to implement such a technology on the roads of London, that can take
the everyday traffic and turned it into a constant stream of electricity.
That is why traffic powered renewable energy technology can play an important role
towards the energy demand of London.

Originality: Though this is an existing technology. But, no one ever bothered to

implement this technology to make the city self-sufficient in energy demands for
street lights, signals etc. As London is a hub of tourism, so we can make the London
a city of lights by implanting this idea, without being worried to fulfill that energy
demands.

Practicality: All we need is to install a "T-press", on the road. Which can be easily
installed without disrupting a flow of traffic or major road construction. Vehicles do
not have to slow down when passing over a "T-press". With every depression of the
"T-press", the pressurized air is sent to the cylinders to control room, located on side
of the road. From the cylinders the air will dispersed to the "air motor", which then
turns the "alternator". The electricity produce this way can be sent to signals and
street lights or it can also be stored in a batteries (just like solar PV systems).

Clarity: I would say, its just like hand pump, use to fill the air in tubes. First we will
pump the air, and will store in a tank or cylinder. Then this pressurized air will use to
produce electricity through 'air motor'. Just like the fan which itself starts rotating if
it hit by an air storm.

Carbon emission reduction: As this technology is producing electricity without

using any fossil fuels or other things that produce carbon emissions, therefore, this
idea is just like renewable energy. And we can say its emission free. Also, it will
overcome the burden to some extent from the conventional power plants, because
a part of energy demand would be covered by this technology.

Sustainability Benefits: Once we have this idea implemented, we can generate

as much electricity as we want, which can then be utilized for any purpose, e.g. for
street lights, for signals, for tube stations, can be sent to the main grids.

As we know the UK's solar radiation intensity is less than 120 watts per square
meter which is less than parts of the globe at lower latitudes. The sunniest parts of
the UK receive just over half as much solar radiation as the sunniest parts of
Europe. That is why, the main source of electrical power production in the UK is
from fossil fuels (Gas, Oil and coal etc), through the combined cycle thermal power
stations. Which produces a lot of emissions that directly goes to the atmosphere
and make our environment polluted.
When these emission comes out of the Boiler's chimney, it has got some pressure
and temperature. In other words, we can it has got some energy that we are just
wasting in the atmosphere.

Solar updraft tower is a technology which uses sunlight to heat the air inside the
collectors, which then rises up through the chimney and make the turbine rotates at
the base of the chimney. Hence electricity produces. My ides is also revolves around
this principle,
That instead of heating the air from the sun, we can use that heated gases which is
coming out of the Boiler's chimney. That heated gas which then repeat the same
principle as i mentioned before.

It means for the same amount of whatever the fossil fuel we are using, we can get
the more electrical power from our combined power cycle station.

All we need is to install one suction blower, to bleed out the gases through the
chimney to the place where our solar tower would be installed.

I would say, when the air blows around the fan which is turned off, what would
happen?
The fan will start rotating without electricity. Similarly, instead of air i want to run a
turbine (coupled with generator) with the gases which is at high temperature and
pressure.

We can save much much carbon emissions by implementing the idea. As we are
fully relying on fossil fuels for our energy demands and there is no coming back
from it, for the next many years. Then, why not to get the as much electricity
production as much we can, out of the fuel we are using. Which means for the same
amount of carbon emissions, which that power station is already producing, we can
generate more electricity.

We can also make the chimney of our solar tower as much high as we can, to
through the remaining flue gases up high in the atmosphere. So that it will not
effect the air we breathe, in a severe way.
