Hye guys. Do you know what is GST? GST is

Services Tax. It replace the Sales Tax rate Service (SST)

that we used in
our economy before. GST is a broad based consumption
tax covering all
sectors of the economy i.e all goods and services made
in Malaysia
including imports except specific goods and services
which are
categorized under zero rated supply and exempt supply
orders as
determined by the Minister of Finance and published in
the Gazette..

hye aunty. Hye ika.

Shaqinur

:
oh hye izzati. Are you just coming from school? Lets
have some water. Here. I make it special for you.

Zati

: yes. Ive just coming from school. We have an extra class

today since. Well, SPM is just around the corner. Em.. Look
like both of you are chatting an interesting topic. Do you?

Shaqinur

: oh yes. We are talking about GST. Do you know about the

issue?

Izzati
: yes. Sure. I know that. We are also discussing this topic at
our school . some of us
are agree with this system and some of us are not.

Ika

: I am the one who are disagree with this system. I strongly

believe that this is the worst thing we should do. All things we
should pay more 6% than the original price and this is really
make us trouble.

Zati
: em.. I fully respect with your opinion ika, but there is
some information
that you
should know. GST are only charge on a certain things and the
basic needs and
public transport are excluded. The effective tax rate is just
around six percent while during the sales tax rate services
(SST), the rate charged increase from five to 10 percent. We
have facing many lost during SST.

Shaqinur
: yes. Absolutely true izzati. And we need to understand that
GST are replacing the
selling tax 10% and also the service tax 6% , so then there is
no issue that GST are
increasing the total tax that are charged for the customer

Ika
: oh.. I see.. there are many benefits actually when our
government
converting our system to GST. I thought that when this system
are applied in our
country it will increase the price of many things and services.
And now I believe that the government must study this
system from all the viewpoints.

Syafiq: We was announced that the GST will be implemented in Malaysia

from 1 April 2015. Simpler tax structure can make the manufacturing
sector more competitive and save both money and time. Beside that, GST
will competitive pricing and the biggest positive of GST is that goods and
services will be taxed on a common basis.
Thats all from us. Thank you.
