complete two from each category by the end of the week. Most activities come in various
levels and can be modified to fit the needs of the individual student.
Specific resources needed for this lesson:
Choice Board handouts/activities
Instructional method(s) used in this lesson:
Instruction will be student lead unless a student needs individual help on their activity. If
this occurs then direct instruction and guided practice will be implemented.
Lesson Sequence:
1. Instructions for the day will be written on the board and I will read them out loud so
students know what to expect for the day.
2. Students will have the expectation of coming to class prepared and ready to work.
3. Students will come in, get their materials ready and choose two activities from the
choice board. If it is a probe day, they will complete their math, reading or writing
probe and then choose two choices from the board.
4. Students will place their name magnets on the activities that they would like to
complete for the day. All students are required to complete at least two activities
each day.

5. If students complete two activities right away they will do work completion.
6. If all students finish early at the same or different times we will read from our
classroom novels.
