Academic Projects
Flow of Fluid around a Circular Cylinder using ANSYS 14.5 (June-July 2013)
Project Mentor:- Prof. P.R.Maiti (Department of Civil Engineering, IIT(BHU) Varanasi)
Review:- To study the concept of Fluid-Structure interaction.
Learnt the Concept of Finite Element Analysis and worked On the ANSYS WORKBENCH 14.5
(Basically ANSYS Fluent) so as to study the effects on and around structure when there is
interaction of Oscillatory Fluid Flow with the Structure. Problems related to wake formation,
vortex Shedding and resonance of structure with the fluid flow is studied with help of
numerical analysis.
Various Tests On Soil Samples for the Stabilization of Oil Rigs (Dec 2013-Jan 2014)
Oil And Natural Gas Corporation, Institute Of Engineering And Ocean Technology
Review:- Worked on different Soil Testing Equipments so as to determine Various Soil
Parameters of soils from Western Offshore Basin of India.
Used various soil testing methods so as to determine different soil parameters for the
stabilization Oil Rigs of ONGC. 3D Finite Element Analysis of the laterally loaded individual
pile in the Jackets of Oil rigs in the clayey soil was done using PLAXIS 3D software. The results
of load distribution and deflection from the Numerical Analysis was compared with the
established experimental p-y curve.
Numerical Modelling of Groundwater Flow using VISUAL MODFLOWFLEX(July-Aug 2014)
Project Mentor:- Prof. P.R.Maiti (Department of Civil Engineering, IIT(BHU) Varanasi)
Review:- To study the Groundwater model so as to determine the seepage(flow) through the
confined and
unconfined aquifers.
Worked on the VISUAL MODFLOW FLEX for the numerical modelling of Groundwater so as to
study variations of heads in the Groundwater flow. Details about the groundwater flow which
occurs due to the presence of different soil layers, with different values of permeability along
with a river flowing with some discharge was studied.

Modelling and Analysis of Offshore Jacket Structure in Western Offshore Basin,

India(Jan-May 2015)
Project Mentor:- Prof. Dr.M.S.Kulkarni(Dept. of Civil Engineering, MIT Pune)
Review:-To Study the effects of Waves and wind on the Offshore jacket Structure using Ansys
Workbench14.5.
In This project we have done the static analysis, on a jacket platform, designed at Mumbai high
basin. The existing platforms at Mumbai high region are affected by continuous sea state and
operational state loading. So, it becomes a necessity that the structures design for the
purposes should be a reliable one. The Static load analysis done in this study, using the
ANSYS WORKBENCH14.5 (Fluent and Diffraction) software helps to analyze and predict the
performance of a typical jacket structure at Mumbai High, when subjected to various load
cases (Calculated using Airys wave theory and Morison equation).
