government will mean a shattering assault on the NHS, benefits, and pay. It would consciously use racism to foster division and weaken opposition to austerity. It will ram through even more antiunion laws, worsen the housing crisis and seek to roll back all the gains workers have made since the Second World War. Labour says it will break from Tory policies and has made some modest promises of change. But Ed Miliband also insists he will cut the deficit, hold down spending and continue to implement austerity. Labours manifesto states, The first line of Labours first Budget will be: This Budget cuts the deficit every year. It wont be an end to cuts, or taking back the NHS from the privateers or a decent minimum wage: the first line will be dancing to the tune of the financial markets. Labour is no real alternative to the Tories.
Atmosphere
UKIP has shamelessly used outrageous
racism in an effort to grab votes. It poisons the political atmosphere and the main parties far too often go along with Nigel Farages lies. Millions of people are to the left of the traditional parties. In Scotland the polls show Labour is going to be virtually annihilated by the rise of the SNP. When they appear on the televised debates, there is real support for the Greens and Plaid Cymru as well. All these parties win support because they are stronger against austerity, dont join in with the racist scapegoating and want to get rid of

Trident nuclear weapons.
But we need to go much further than the Greens, the SNP and Plaid to break with the bosses system and fight for a world where people come before profit. That is why the Socialist Workers Party, the Socialist Party, the RMT union and independent socialists have joined to offer an election challenge in over 130 constituencies through the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition. The SWP is also centrally involved in the Stand Up to UKIP campaign which is taking on the battle against Farage. And we helped to organise the vibrant anti-racist demonstrations on 21 March in London, Glasgow and Cardiff.
We want you to be part of the fight
against austerity, racism and climate change. We want you to join the SWP to be part of a stronger, more united left. We need to offer credible solutions to the crisis in workers lives, the absence of real democracy in society and the failure of official politics. The immense gulf between the traditional parties and voters has created the conditions for new forces to emerge. Russell Brand is popular because he says the system is broken and the media lie. Millions agree.
Explosions
Whoever is elected in May, the
economic squeeze will grind on, and social explosions are inevitable. We need to push for more strikes and stronger workers organisation. The so-called recovery means nothing to the vast majority of people in Britain. When Cameron speaks he describes a fantasy Britain of prosperity for all which does not exist. This is a time of turmoil. Join the SWP today to fight for a socialist future and an end to racism and oppression.
