all TRANSIT STOPS.

2) The performance of following maintenance line


checks does not prevent the accomplishment of
flight crew checks and tests as recommended by
the airline approved FLIGHT CREW OPERATING
MANUAL (FCOM).

ARRIVAL PRELIMINARY ITEMS

1.1

Check ramp area is clear of debris

1.2

Install wheel chocks

1.3

Install nose and main landing gear safety pins if work requirements
require the use of safety pins or aircraft towing is expected

Place the towing lever in the Tow position and install pin for push

If the aircraft electrical network is not energized perform a safety


check to ensure proper position of controls and switches before
energizing the electrical network

Energize the aircraft electrical network

1.7

a) Review technical log book and undertake corrective actions as


required.
b) Review Deferred Defect recording and Cabin Log and action
accordingly.
c) If transit time is greater than six (06) hours,
review deferred defects record sheet log and raise continuation
work sheet for all open defects and action accordingly.

Check Engine oil quantity (ECAM LOWER DISPLAY ENGINE
PAGE) within 30 minutes after Engine shut-down:
If indication is below minimum check Engine
oil level at tank sight-glass ,top-up as required NO. 1 ENGINE
with OIL and record uplift(s) in journey log
book as well.
NO. 2 ENGINE
WARNING Do not remove the oil tank cap for five minutes after

Engine stops to permit the pressure in the oil tank to decrease.


NOTE: If the access panel is opened for oil filing. Check Pop out
Indicates of Electric Master Chip Detector (ABK/ABM/ABN/ABO
ABP/ only)
(a) Select Hydraulic page on lower ECAM and check that
green/blue/yellow hydraulic system quantity levels are in normal
operating range, and that Reservoir low air press messages are
not displayed.

NOTE: If under MEL, the APU is to be used for the duration of the
following flight.
Check APU OIL LEVEL at sight glass. Service as required.
Note amount of oil uplifted in the journey log book

Print post flight and attach to main base copy of journey log
(CMB only)

If the aircraft layover is more than 4 hours depressurize the potable


water system i.a.w. AMM

1.12

Review ECAM Class 1 Warning/caution and action accordingly

1.13

If transit time is greater than six (06) hours

Follow cold weather maintenance procedures as per AMM 12-31-00


PB 001 if:
Outside air temperature (OAT) is less than 0 deg.C and aircraft is not
electrically powered.

2.0

EXTERNAL CHECKS

2.1

Carry out an aircraft walk around for evidence of obvious damages


which may have occurred during the last flight or during the landing
and taxi phases:
(a) Impact/F.O.D.
(b) Fluid leakage
(c) Missing or loose parts
(d) Missing overpressure discharge discs
(e) Fuselage tail skin for damage of ground contact during take off
(f) Obstruction of inlet/outlets

2.2

Check brake units for evidence of overheating or leaks on MLG and


NLG shock absorber for normal extension, wheels for condition, tires
for wear, damage and evidence of under-inflation

REFUELING

3.1

Obtain water free fuel samples form bowser or Refueling trucks prior
to refueling

(APPILICABLE FOR EVERY TRANSIT THROUGH BASE STATION)


(a) Drain the waste tanks in order to ensure that the tanks are empty,
the outside of the waste drain hose shall be touched by hand to
verify that the fluid flow has stopped before beginning tank
rinsing process
(b) After draining wit the waste drain valves in the open position the
waste tank rinsing system shall be connected to the toilet service
vehicle, having the following requirements.
(c) Pressure 2.4 bars (35-50 psi) Flow rate: Stable at 38.0 L (10.04
Usg) per minutes Volume to be delivered. Approx 20L (5.3 Usg)
close the drain valve after rinsing and add 01 sachet (each 8
grams) of deodorant Celeste Sani-Pack AMS 1476 into each
toilet bowl flush once before departure to deodorize the system
(AMM 12-16-38)

OXYGEN

5.1

Check crew oxygen bottle pressure in DOOR/OXY page as follows:


Line Station : Between 900-1850 PSI (70F)
CMB
: Between 1200-1850 PSI (70F)
NOTE
: Above pressure applicable for Transit check only

5.2

Ensure the REGUL LOPR message is not displayed on the


DOOR/OXY page

6.0

INTERIOR CLEANING

6.1

Ensure all smoke detector inlet ducts are free from any blockage

6.2

Ensure general cleaning in flight and passenger compartments,


service centers and lavatories are carried out

Endorse and sign off corrective actions in Technical log book

7.2

(a) Remove main landing gear safety pins (if installed)


(b) Remove Rat Safety Service

Ensure aircraft is released by an authorized individual and the


applicable maintenance duly certified in the Technical log book

Carry out a final aircraft walk around:


(a) Ensure all cabin doors, cargo compartment doors and service

8.0

DEPARTURE PROCEDURE

8.1

If insect presence is evident in the vicinity of the aircraft, within 15


minutes prior to departure visually inspect Pitot probes and Static
ports to detect any blockage as far as visible
Ten minutes prior to departure, the Departure Engineer will establish
intercom contact with flight deck and maintain contact until departure
clearance is given

8.2

If push back or towing departure required:


(a) Ensure ground towing control is set to the TOWING
position on the nose steering deactivation box and lock the lever
with safety pin
(b) Connect bar to the NLG towing attachment
NOTE: ENSURE TOWING ANGLE IS NOT EXCEEDED DURING
TOWING/ PUSHBACK

8.4

If APU is fully operative, remove GPU/Air-con unit/Air Start unit

Ensure all ground equipment removed and is clear of aircraft except


GPU, ACU, ASU as required

Inform flight crew that aircraft is clear to start engines

After engine start, remove all ground equipment as soon as flight


crew acknowledge that it is no longer required

When Cockpit crew request pushback


(a) Remove wheel chocks
(b) Request cockpit crew to release parking brake and await
confirmation that brakes are OFF from captain
(c) Signal tractor driver to commence pushback/towing indication
direction of turn if required
On completion of pushback, request cockpit crew to set parking
brakes and await confirmation that brakes are ON

Position wheel chock at nose wheels and remove towbar, form the
nose landing gear towing attachment, and move the tractor away.

8.11

Before aircraft taxi out for departure:


(a) Remove nose landing gear safety pin
(b) Remove safety pin of the nose wheel steering deactivation box
and make sure the towing control lever return to the normal
position
Remove Nose Wheel chocks and move to the left or right hand
wingtip and indicate aircraft is clear to taxi
