For example, Civil Engineering students shall study Introduction to Civil Engineering, Chemical
Engineering students shall study Introduction to Chemical Engineering and Information Technology
students shall study Introduction to Computer Sciences and Information Technology etc
2. Institutions can recommend one of four other Basic Engineering courses offered
during this semester.
3. The five workshop programmes will be connected with the Basics of Engineering courses
offered. The students should attend two workshops in S1 and two in S2
For example, students opting Introduction to Civil Engineering or Basic Civil Engineering should
attend the Civil Engineering Workshop, students opting Introduction to Mechanical Engineering or
Basic Mechanical Engineering should attend the Mechanical Engineering Workshop, students opting
Introduction to Chemical Engineering should attend the Chemical Engineering Workshop and
students opting Introduction to Computer Science and Information Technology should attend the
Computer Science Workshop etc. The students shall be introduced to the various components, the
dismantling and assembly of various equipments and some preliminary hands on training with
different tools.
