32-year-old left-hander is making his 3rd start this season tonight, his 143rd career MLB start, his 4th start vs. HOU, and his
2nd at Safeco Field as a Mariner.
Acquired in trade with Toronto in exchange for outfielder Michael Saunders on 12/4/14.
Native of Peru, ILattended St. Bede High School in Chicago.
Originally selected by Philadelphia in the 3rd round (92nd overall) of the 2004 MLB June Draft.
Pitched for Northwestern University for three seasons.
Played for Philadelphia (2007-10), Houston (2010-12) and Toronto (2012-14) over 8 MLB seasons.
Finished second in 2009 NL Rookie of the Year voting in first full
season in MLB with PHI, going 12-4 with a 2.93 ERA (54 ER,
